Class of 2023 SF Marcus Adams (CA) Offered

Yeah, Marcus' AAU coach told me about the Kansas visit a few days ago. It wasn't completely set in stone when I wrote my last piece, but I'm not surprised by it. I think he'll also visit UCLA, USC and it seems possibly Texas.

No idea how you could visit those places and decide NOT to come to Cuse, seems way too obvious ;)

I need to look at what Recruits those schools have landed for 2023. But I know Kansas has lots of really good underclassman plus Elmarko Jackson coming in for 2023. I suspect the other schools have fairly stocked cupboards too. If this kid is as good as advertised, I imagine the pitch to him at Cuse is that you’ll get lots of shots next season and be a focal point on offense. I don’t know if the other schools will be able to say that based on their rosters and the top 100 2023 recruits they’ve already landed.

Everybody should take advantage of all their recruiting visits. I had a couple as a baseball player and they were a blast.

I would agree that playing time is a big factor for Marcus. His AAU coach has told me that several times. And while I'm not as familiar with the future rosters of his other suitors, I do think that SU would afford him ample playing time. What I'm curious about is assuming Marcus does commit to SU (I just jinxed it), and it's for 2023, how does that affect the other forwards currently on the roster (i.e., Maliq, Chris, Justin, etc.)?

My guess: JT slots to the 2, Brown starts at PF and Bell transfers out

At SU he could play both forward spots, at the same time, and get more rebounds than our 4 guys.

The pitch could be “we don’t use the transfer portal as much as other schools so we won’t recruit over you”

If Adams is really good, it seems like he’s the starting SF. Maliq plays PF. Justin moves to SG. Bell is the backup small forward? He has a Southerland or BJ-like development timeline. Needs to get stronger and work on handle and driving ability.

I don’t see how Bell is ever benched here if he gets stronger he will make 50 percent from three next year

Has Jim blown this
Why do you say that? I saw another article on a blog stating the same thing. Marcus is allowed five OVs. He's currently on his second. He's taken an OV to SU and is taking an unofficial OV to SU next weekend, with his brother, who is also a SU target. Until I hear differently, I don't think SU has blown anything. SU may not win out, but it's in the mix. Very much so.

A few weeks ago, before the controversy's things seemed more solid. Parents and kids don't like negative vibes. Couple that with a few blow out losses and it makes me wonder. Obviously, it is all speculation. Thank you as always for posting.

I’ve lost a little confidence getting Marcus. Maybe it’s the negativity with the way the team is playing or the uncertainty of what’s going to happen moving forward. I’m worried about another blowout loss today and I’m not confident with our two games next week. GT is playing better and we have to outscore Wake to win. JB has a way of shocking us with unexpected wins. Let’s hope today is the day. Unfortunately, we don’t play that well at Pitt. They crushed us last year down there and have owned us the last three years. The fact that his entire family is coming next week is a big plus.

Totally totally understand your sentiments here, buddy!
