I honestly think he will end up top 5, maybe top 2 in this class. Kid is the total package. His skill set is soooo much like DC it's scary...only a better handle. Not sure he has the same swagger, but the on the court skills are eerily similar.

Insanely great get.

Kid is special. That said, little to no chance he will wind up top 2 in his class. I could see top 10 but top 5 is a stretch and top 2 is not going to happen. He's one of the quickest risers in his class but even if he continues to improve and turn heads, politics will keep him out of that ranking. Also, his class is damn deep.

I think he's more perimeter oriented and quicker than DC but, yeah, there are some similarities plus both lefty. For me he's like a young Shareef Abdur-Rahim. In this clip SAR scores in every way possible. So versatile!

I didn't realize that opinions could be true or false. Thanks for that.

Except for 2 of your 'facts', all those statements are opinions.

True or False - If you are going to continue with the attitude, your stay here will be short. True

I will say that it's not all about being anti-Hop. It's liberating knowing we are back headed in the right direction, moving past the BS sanctions.. and by the way we still have a HOF coach. At least for the next few years, things look brighter than they have been while we were scrutinized and under penalty.

I think most people should agree with that considering this is a Bazley thread and he may be our best get since Melo.

i do not agree with you

I'm not going to go through every sentence, but...

- Hop did SO much behind the scenes. He was basically running the team since Boeheim was so hands off. Much like how Jimbo was during Bowden's end of the road. Bowden wasn't doing much. Not to mention babysitting the players.

- Hop has an excellent relationship with many coaches and/or the AAU scene. SU got Bazely but hopefully that momentum continues. Remains to be seen. Many players still don't want to play all zone and Hop was offering exciting stylistic changes (see Ennis reassuring Quinerly and such).

- We don't know who would do a better job as the coach of SU. I do have some concerns about Boeheim being able to mold a team at his age and the stale scheme on both ends. That doesn't mean Hop would necessarily do better, but, the point is that nobody knows anything right now nor should anyone be claiming they are prophets delivering whatever fantasy/scenario they want to play out.

I understand your comments, i have a question - what do you think Hop was doing behind the scenes? There is this notion that JB is hands-off day to day operations and that is the furthest thing from the truth, go to Melo - 7 days per week, who is in the office? Nothing happens without JB sign off

Seems to me, from the outside, that the elongated and protracted transition was cumbersome and difficult to work through.
Who were players committing to?
What system was being recruited for?
Whose vision was driving recruiting?
When was the change actually going to happen?
Who would run practice?
Who did they answer to?

The change seems to have refocused these issues.

Just my non-insider $.02.

He may be there 7 days a week (though I highly doubt) but I'm not sure how much grinding or individual instruction was actually being done by him. That's where Hop comes in. I admit I'm speculating a bit. Obviously he signs off on things, duh. I do know for a fact that guys like Izzo, Pitino, K, Larannaga, etc., are much more hands on in terms of running of practice, teaching, etc.

For better or worse which we don't know yet; there is more clarity now which is a positive and less ambiguity in regards to the questions for instance Capt. Tuttle posted about above. We just don't know how it will play out.
