It’s good I didn’t say that thenIf we are starting Kiyan, Sadiq and Fennell we aren’t winning sht.

So if Freeman does comeback, a monumental if, does Sadiq come off the bench since Freeman would likely start along with our million dollar center to be named later?Kid is a natural leader also. In the article he states about the recruiting class and also JJ being there next year along with Donnie possibly coming back. There will be some excitement if that all comes true
I wish I had that answer but I’m not certain… sadiq is coming here to start I know thatSo if Freeman does comeback, a monumental if, does Sadiq come off the bench since Freeman would likely start along with our million dollar center to be named later?

My guess is that Freeman is gone like 95%. On the minuscule chance he returns, sure why not. Sadiq doesn't have the same game as Donnie who is more offensive minded. It'd be cool to have a 6'9" SF.I wonder if they'd try to use Freeman like a wing / SF? So that he and White could play together [assuming Freeman doesn't leave in some capacity]?
If that's the plan, I really hope the other 3 guys on the court are really good shooters. (and it probably is the plan if Donnie returns as I don't see Red benching one of them, and it appears Donnie isn't being asked to primarily play center since Red's reportedly looking for a $1m transfer center). A portal center who can shoot and do other things well like rebound and play defense will have a lot of competitive offers. PG too. It's critical that we retain Donnie for next year, but I'm afraid we're starting the year once again with a flawed roster unless we crush it at the other 3 positions and/or unless Donnie's 3-point shooting gets much better (which it very well might).I wonder if they'd try to use Freeman like a wing / SF? Donnie isn't Billy Owen's and Sadiq isn't DC,
but that would be a better combination then any we have had in years.
A good point guard, shooting guard, and small forward, with a solid bench and you have a winner.
CONSTANZA!!!!!You could play Freeman/White as the 4 & 5 otnas the 3 & 4 depending on the opposition. I like the idea of them as a 4 and 5, especially if you can sign a larger 3 who will be able to help on the boards. Plus we will have big guards.
Or…plot twist, we start 3 guards / 2 forwards or Donnie is actually going to be our million dollar “center”!So if Freeman does comeback, a monumental if, does Sadiq come off the bench since Freeman would likely start along with our million dollar center to be named later?
It seems like playing them at 4/5 instead of 3/4 fits what I thought was Red's plan better, but it's been reported he's going after a $1m portal center, so I guess that's not the plan. Donnie is almost as big as Jesse. I like a lineup with them at 4/5 and then a really good 3 who can score at three levels including shooting 3s a really good clip. Spend big money on an elite PG who also shoots 3s really well, with JJ at the 2, and Kiyan/Moore off the bench. A big body defensive-minded center to play the 5 as well. Not going to a final four but I view that as our ceiling for reasonable expectations for a roster next year. You could play Freeman/White as the 4 & 5 otnas the 3 & 4 depending on the opposition. In my opinion for what it is worth, I believe Freeman will be back Next year. This is based on 1) he has yet to demonstrate any consistency in his game, 2) there are a couple of areas he needs to improve on, 3) his sample set of number of games played is very small right now, 4) if he wants to improve his draft position which right now is mid 2nd round to not drafted and 5) he stated that he looks forward to playing with Sadiq White, Jr. .Do people think Freeman will be here next yr?

The 3 on the DC, and Owen's team was Stevie, backed up by Dave Johnson, and Harried, and Manning was the backup center. This is the way I see it. Freeman was a bad high school defender and will be a bad college defenser (although probably better next year than this) it's probably better to hide him at the 5 where only a few teams have a high scoring player. Plus his skill set, being able to drive and shoot, and being ultra athletic will make him an impossible guard for most 5s.l, so what we lose on D we will win and then some on O. Obviously it would be ideal to have a traditional 5 to bring off the bench when needed and move to an ultra big line up in against those few teams like North Carolina you tend to need size against.
Also helpful is the 6'6 Australian, Anthony and Starling make up a huge guard rotation.
Add a big 3, or someone who plays big, and size won't be a problem, plus you have really intriguing skill sets to work with.
I wouldnt plan on Donnie
#2-Who would those be? Maliq would have been nice to keep but he is averaging 2.5 points per game and is not a rim protector which IMO is the biggest weakness of this team. There isn't one guy we lost in the portal that would equate to even 1 more win.Gonna come back to this comment next year, with or without Red.
We had a "best since Melo!" recruit this year. And Choppa.
How's that going for us?
"he's hurt." Okay, got it. But what was our W/L with him playing?
1. Need good recruits - yes, but they're freshmen.
2. Need to retain some players - we lost a couple who could have made an impact.
3. Need good transfers - this is the new world of NIL, and AAU/Div-II/Div-III don't cut it.
4. Finally, need good coaching.
Boeheim found many diamonds in the rough. The transfers under the OLD rule had to sit a year, which I hated at the time, but long for now. And look at how great they did.
CONSTANZA!!!!!
