Class of 2024 SG Aiden Tobiason (DEL) TRANSFERRING TO SYRACUSE (4/13/26)

I highly recommend listening to the Mike Waters pod with Tobiason. He explained his freshman year he was a 3 and D player who only took the easy open three. Last season he had the ball in his hands at the end of the shot clock and was expected to create. I think in a system where there is less usage his percentage will go back up. Shot looks like some who can really shoot it when his feet are set.
I listened to some of the interview. Cool stuff! Aiden mentions that he will get an opportunity to see some time at the one. Great interview. He has developed his game while at Temple.

Tobiason has an 11.9 Assist%, a 9.8 TO% and 21.1 Usage% with .604 TS%

Excellent numbers for a SF or SG. And his low 3pt % is actually dragging him down.

This is not a guy you want playing point guard. He is a shooter that can pass, not a point guard that can shoot.

I normally don’t put a lot into highlight tapes, but his really impresses me. The thing I like the most is that he looks to be a true three level score that moves without the ball. He had several threes where he was coming off curls, not just standing in a spot, waiting for somebody to find him. I bet he finished more back door cuts in this highlight clip in the whole Syracuse team did last year. He is a strong finisher around the rim and also shows the ability to finesse his way to a basket. He made a huge jump between his freshman and sophomore year, and I believe he will make another big jump and can be our star this year.

He could get a lot of and one. He kicks out his right foot when he shoots jumpers.

Which side dish would you like to order to have with your words?

I'm not exactly sure your metaphor... Are you saying I'll have to eat my words?

I'm certainly not down on Tobiason, I think he's highly likely to be our best player next year, out of the guys we have so far.

His offensive versatility is going to be fun to watch. It will be very nice having a guy who can shoot the three, drive to the basket, and finish the alley oop. He also is a fine passer for a small forward.

I don't think Tobiason is any kind of point guard. But, guys evolve over time.

Yup, another exception that proves the rule. Maybe we should talk about Anthony Mason too!

To be fair, I've been wrong before. I thought Red was going to turn it around this past season. It would be nice to be pleasantly surprised by Tobiason being a really good point guard.
