After he said that he looked at his dad and his dad had a ‘pump the breaks’ look on his face but also very excited to meet Wallace and take a pic with him.

He's not signing. He's a sophomore. A commitment now means other kids don't look at SU and/or we don't recruit others. Then, if he backs out, SU gets hurt not the kid. Better to do the due diligence, then commit.
