Not more than Carlos.Oh I am going to hate the guy. I can already tell.

I mostly liked Carlos to be honest...just wish our team wasn't so bad that he needed to play a large role. Not more than Carlos.
I would have been fine with him if he was a 10 minute a game backup guard.I mostly liked Carlos to be honest...just wish our team wasn't so bad that he needed to play a large role.
Can’t shoot either. Led a losing squad. We love those.I didn't realize Desmond was born in Syracuse. Grew up in CT.
He's an aggressive playmaker who makes a lot of great passes...but also a lot of TOs. Would love his size. Could be a good addition. He's gotten better each year.
it's always the case with portal guys. nobody is a sure fire thing unless they're being criminally underpaid. the goal is to upgrade the roster...which shouldn't be hard to do given what we put out last year. Can’t shoot either. Led a losing squad. We love those.
Not asking for perfect, but adding another guy in the backcourt who can't shoot, defend, and turns it over a lot with another guy who has the same deficiencies is not a recipe for fixing this.it's always the case with portal guys. nobody is a sure fire thing unless they're being criminally underpaid. the goal is to upgrade the roster...which shouldn't be hard to do given what we put out last year.
Here is article on Xaivian Lee who seems to fit description if he stays in college.Oh, he is so much better than Carlos I have to say I am happy. But as I have said, there are things we are all going to love. And sadly, things we are not going to love. To say the least.
He’s really values his Princeton degree. Lots of schools tried to get him to portal LY and he told them he rather get an Ivy League degree. Here is article on Xaivian Lee who seems to fit description if he stays in college.

Xaivian Lee: Pizzazz, Peril, and Promise
For Rowan Kent, there are few guards more exciting to watch in the 2025 NBA Draft class than Princeton's Xaivian Lee. What about his game inspires excitement and fear in the same breath?www.noceilingsnba.com
What a loserHe’s really values his Princeton degree. Lots of schools tried to get him to portal LY and he told them he rather get an Ivy League degree.
I am rooting for it to be Po'Boigh KingHe is on the list
From a P5 or mid-maj?He is on the list
agree. but i'm also an optimist. If Desmond Claude is who Dasher is talking about. I’d actually be very happy with that pull. Not the greatest 3 point shooter and a little high on the turnovers. But he’s a bucket, he’s a pretty good passer too. A few games this season with double digit assists. A few games where he scored right around 30 points. He’s also a tall, lengthy guard and a solid defender.
If that is who we are rolling with at PG. I think we end up back with the 2-3 zone as our defense. Starling and Claude up top. Two big, lengthy guards. Sadiq and Freeman on the wings. Give me a big, lengthy, defensive center that blocks shots from the portal. This is also a team that can get out and run, as they would be athletic. Would probably be our best bet too since our best shooters would be coming off the bench. Freeman, Claude and Starling can shoot it but all are streaky. That starting 5 would be best if we got out and ran. I still think we would need a knock down shooter out of the portal and 2 centers
Based on this I’d guess Tyler Tejada, Claude, Bryce Johnson, Tk Simpkins. He is on the list
Is that objectively, or because we are SU fans, and that’s how we do?And sadly, things we are not going to love. To say the least.
There's a lot to love about shrimp, but there's always some concern. He's the oneI am rooting for it to be Po'Boigh King
Thanks for what you do here, Dasher.Neither. We are interested as is he. If I had to guess, and I don't, I would bet he would be our first commit from the portal by this time next week.
That’s awfully personalThanks for what you do her, Dasher.
In a more perfect world, he'd be our 6th man that you can give more minutes to when he's on a heater and play him less when he's not.Lord, just get us to next year and get this over with.
If JJ is a focal point, we are toast.
This thread, while I greatly appreciate the info, is so sad.
They have to do everything to keep Donnie.
The JJ stuff is insane. He’s average, at best. He cannot be a first or second guy on O. He really shouldn’t even be a third.
I know it's just an off hand comment and you aren't agreeing, but want to comment before that narrative starts this offseasonIn a more perfect world, he'd be our 6th man that you can give more minutes to when he's on a heater and play him less when he's not.
Really hope he comes back much-improved next season and proves the haters wrong, but at his current level and role, he's just not really a valuable player unfortunately.
