do the following now that this disastrous season is over:
1) Find a new OC
2) Fire Joe Adam and hire an OL coach that has D1 experience
3) Hire a competent special teams coach
4) Tell Nike to shove it and go back to the classic Cuse uniforms
5) Purchase about 30k tickets for the '15 home opener for there may be under 20k vs Rhode Island
6) Stop using the term hardnosed...

As was asked in a previous thread, please list all the D-1 teams that have a dedicated Special Teams coach. And then tell me which position coach you would eliminate to hire a dedicated Special Teams coach.

TE / Special Teams position available. Please call Scott Shafer.

I'll give you that. However, Casullo had the title of TE/ST coach when he was here. Who is in charge of our ST's? Two consecutive games of returned KO for touchdown , plus the Duke return. Etc.

if given the choice of improving 1 staff position im going for best OL coach I can find since our OL regressed a ton this year. Fred Reed would be another coach I would like to see which recruits has he brought in ?

Thought the Cuse had turned the corner and now it feels like we are back in the dreaded GRob days again...

Doust.

Not saying that specials don't need work. That's obvious. But to call for eliminating a position coach for a dedicated Specials coach is ludicrous. It's just not feasible under current NCAA rules.

It is usually assigned to a TE coach. Marc Nudelberg has Cincinnati in the top ten in specials in most efficiency ratings he coaches both. I would give the job to Acosta. BTW SU is currently ranked 98th before today's TD.

Can't see anything I disagree with

Yup. I was just enlightened concerning who was in charge of ST. Maybe someone else should take the responsibility. It's too important a part of the game to execute it poorly.

Agreed.

Yeah, I know that. But the OP asked for the hire of a Specials coach. That is what I was responding to.

But ya know, the OP is from a guy who played for Mac. So, I have to give his thoughts some extra credence. He's been there

That's all well and good. But if he played for Mac and has followed football at all since he graduated, he would know that no one has a dedicated specials coach. That's all I'm saying.

Not nobody - just not many. 20 teams had one in 2013. And I agree we probably shouldn't have a dedicated one but I think we need a serious change of direction.

Is Daoust in charge of all ST? I thought it was coaching by committee? Anyway, the TE coach is probably out since he'll have 25 position players to deal with next season with the Elmhurst Express offense. (trademark pending-so back off Giansante)

Mac went 2-9 in his second season. But that 2-9 was different, right? I'm sure nobody felt like we were going back to the Maloney days, right?

'Cause if this board had existed in 1982 , all the internet football geniuses on this board would never have been calling for Mac's head, especially after going 4-6-1 in his first year.

They would all have recognized what a great coach he would be and would have given him a mulligan, right?

He!!, Mac didn't even come from the MAC. He came from a D-II conference. But the board would have overlooked that, right?

Your best chance for any of those to happen is #2. Does anyone know how many games the Oline played in as a complete unit? It seems that there was always a couple guys out.
