Krautman's trajectory was fine; Pugh missed his block & the D-lineman blocked it standing up.

The DL had great penetration. The missed block cost us the game.

We did miss a block but the guy that blocked it was not upfield but back near the line on a 32 yarder you need to get it up quick and a good kicker will RK did not

Watch the replay - Pugh sits down & 77 in red steps 2 yards past the LOS, and double fists the kick.

He had the penetration from the correct angle - perfectly designed & executed.

Maybe not play for the FG?
There were a lot of places I would second guess Marrone..... going to the "tank" on third down for one......I could see on third and 12 getting 4 yards and not letting Ryan take the sack and getting the lead at that point in the game ( 32 yarder should be safe)

Ugh. What is the point of trying to "get the lead" with 25 minutes left to play? It's a stupid meathead mentality. Like we get bonus points for time spent in the lead? Like its a friggin' NASCAR race?!

if we got three the three times we were in the red zone and got nothing we win the game ( taking away 7 from Rut) Our Red Zone offense is a catastrophic i guess we can agree on that

I don't know what you're looking at. That block was all on Krautman. The guy that blocked it was 1 yard into the backfield and barely got his arm up. Horrible kick. Something has happened to him-he is not the same kicker he was.

C'mon man, few college kickers can boot it over a ~6'3+ Dlineman standing straight up 2 yards in the backfield w/ his hands directly over his head. It's not like Krautman kicked it into his chest.

the kick was low. I help out our HS football coach with his kickers from time to time because i have a soccer back round. the approach and the plant are slightly different for a 50 yarder then a 32 yarder.
Should get a chip shot into the air quickly ..... he did not...any kicker can get the ball over a lineman standing flat footed 5 or 6 yards away

Yes, but then how could we blame the coaches for it if it was actually the kids fault?

You're wrong. The only person at fault was Pugh for whiffing on the block; the kicked was blocked by a Dlineman standing upright in the friggin backfield!!!

And no, I'm not related to Krautman.

No your wrong end of story

Tough loss. Didn't think the penalties were all that killer. It was the turnovers and redone trips without points. This team can play, they just need to right everything between their ears. And between their palms. Dunno how many drops there were, but they were all crucial. The picks were bad and poorly timed. SU is their own worst enemy out there.

Or our OL did a poor job blocking...I guess it all depends, like in all end-game analysis, which set of eyes you're viewing it with. For us SU fans, our breakdown in blocking, led to the block FT, which was a critical adverse turning point in the game. If you're a RU fan, a great play was made by them, blowing up the coverage leading to the block and the critical turning point in their favor...For us, unfortunately, we find ourselves much more often with that adverse vision...:bang:

Both his kicks stunk. Plain and simple. End of story.

yep the 50 yarder was 5 yards short as well as pulled Div 1 kicker cant reach from 50 is poor something happened with Krautman

That may make you more qualified than our current STs coach.

I also have a kicking background (played both sports in HS) so I see it differently.

Rarely have I seen a 5'8 kicker as skinny as Ross have the leg for a 50 yarder. I wasn't surprised he pulled it short.

Lot of little guys with strong accurate legs

He has never had a leg. It was asinine to even try that. Krautman should never try a FG over 45 yards. He used to be money inside 45. Let him kick those.
