Is Su doing anything for signing day this year? I know in the past they had some events. i know one year they had an event snowed out and never reschedule it. Might be a nice thing to do something with the IPF, shoot some video on a wall with a projector, something to promote the team off the way the year ended.

It would be. I don't think the current people in place have any interest in promoting the team to its supporters, but perhaps they will surprise us.

If only they'd had an opportunity to hire people who bleed orange and want nothing more than to promote the product over the last year.

Sorry. They preferred hiring an Oregon baseball guy instead. He's doing a bang-up job of promoting and once that boat gets here with the orange uniforms, his job will be complete.

Marrone's first year, they put up a ~35min video of highlights from all the signees on suathletics.com. Not sure they did it since.

Basketball game at home vs Va Tech that night. Since Manley is used for parking, that probably eliminates any type of event at the IPF that night.

It shouldn't. They had one of Marrone's events in the backcourt area before the hoops game. Just start it early enough and people can park at Manley and shuttle to the Dome. It's actually easier to do before a hoops game since people would be heading that way.

Will the people who just want to go to the IPF for signing day have to pay $15 to park?

It wouldn't take much for SU to have people RSVP and send out passes. They could re-direct some of the hoops parking to Skytop. Just give people enough advance notice and it could work.

They hold a press event every year at Manley - Ive gone to almost all of them. HCSS (along with FHCDM) reviews each player in detail.

What event were you referring to Upperdeck?

I miss those events at Drumlins where P talked for a bit then each position coach got up and talked about recruits at their position and they played highlight videos of the recruit.

at one point they were going to actually have a real event. food/video/coaches discussions with an RSVP. its been years since they did anything of any substance.

I can't remember one of those since the P days. I think there were a couple events after that for the Ernie Davis Club but not sure what it was.

CRAZY TALK!

You know what is a really inexpensive way to stimulate our waning fanbase's interest? Doing an informative signing day event and a meet and greet with all the coaches. It's these types of small things that could go great length with our fans.

That's exactly what they used to do back in the day.

It wouldn't hurt to do the road show in the summer either.. Have they ever done it other than when hiring Marone?

Where's Jason Poles? Haven't heard much from him lately. Maybe he would be a good person to relay the message about this.

A month is enough time to get this sort of thing done, if they really want to.

Doug Marrone won't let him post here anymore...
