With the week between games they should bring in a shot doctor who works with NBA players to work with G and Buss on FT technique and establishing a rhythm. With Buss it's hard to believe that someone who plays guard could be that bad a free throw shooter. He may be the worst ever at SU and that's sayin something with our history of bricklayers. However I wouldn't expect miracles...probably takes an entire summer of work to see major improvement. He needs to step back on the first shot. He consistently hits the back of the rim on the first one. And as Sean pointed out, he then adds air to the second shot. That results in a bucket or too short. He's consistently inconsistent up there.
if cooney doesnt get shots off Rak gets even less shots off. and throw out 3-4 of the cooney shots they were just late game heaves. he was about 8-20 when it mattered which means net shooting was 50%, you can win a lot of games if your team could do thatThe UNC game was unusual. Trevor only averages 3 shots a game more than G and that's with the big number the other night. G needs to take a few more because teams let him, Patterson and Roberson shoot to their hearts content as their sole focus is on Rak and Trevor. G needs to be more aggressive looking for his shot.
and its not really that many, because Roc draws so many fouls that a lot of his FG attempts become FT attempts. The UNC game was unusual. Trevor only averages 3 shots a game more than G and that's with the big number the other night.
about 3 or 4 of his heaves were damn luck period. toss them too ?if cooney doesnt get shots off Rak gets even less shots off. and throw out 3-4 of the cooney shots they were just late game heaves. he was about 8-20 when it mattered which means net shooting was 50%, you can win a lot of games if your team could do that
