Simply fantastic that Duke is in the championship game

This is what college sports are all about. I think it is great that Duke makes the ACC championship game. Sure they will most likely be kicked by FSU but what an accomplishment.

Shows what can be achieved give us hope.

It's not exactly a model SU can follow. We're in the division that's 10X tougher, and we'd never have an embarassing OOC slate like that. It's a nice story though. I hope FSU beats them by 90.

The current coach (Cutcliffe) has been there since 2008. He apparently has a very patient AD and fanbase because prior to this year, his team's record is 21 wins and 40 losses.
They were truly terrible before Cutcliffe arrived (4 wins and 42 losses between 2004 and 2007) but he hasn't been much better until this year.

Before this year, the last time the Duke football team had a winning season was 1994.

I don't know, with what he's done and how far he's brought Duke, why not give it a few more years and see what he can do? In that division, a BCS game isn't impossible... (although FSU will probably go undefeated again next year)

Yep. These structures are dated and were set up strictly because FSU and Miami were the powerhouses at the time. Although, you never know which team is going to be there 5 years from now. Will Miami become a power again? The SEC has had many years where one division was clearly the best and the other was filler. They never restructured.

Swofford is going to have to think long and hard about this over the summer. With Louisville coming in, the Atlantic will now be a brutal gauntlet.

Selfishly, I want FSU, Clemson and Louisville on the schedule. Realistically, wow, that's tough.

At first I would say the same division only because I feel they should play each other every year. I'd only want to be in separate divisions if they were our cross-division rival.

Not really sure Bob. I feel like we play very tight against them. When we play tight we make mental errors, and that was our downfall this year.
