SDSU, USU and CSU are the 3 top teams in the MWC. SDSU has a 1-3 regular season record against the other 2. The rest of the MWC is weak. SDSU also didn't have any covid stoppages to derail their teams development.

For what it's worth, we played a pretty awful brand of basketball for about two weeks at the end of Dec, that's when all 4 of our losses came. Lost at home to BYU, Mitchell had 30 and nobody else scored, gave up a massive lead to CSU, then dropped two at USU who is a bad matchup for us, and Mitchell was out from a hyperextended knee. Dutch shook things up and put Gomez in the starting lineup and it changed the tempo and chemistry a good bit. However...those losses happened, and I know they're capable of scoring droughts and playing to not lose. Friday can't come soon enough.

None of these analysts know anything, and I don’t blame them. There are hundreds of teams to follow, and 68 teams in the tournament alone. How many analysts you think have seen us or SDSU play more than once (if that). Most of the analysts probably just google syracuse or SDSU, nitpick one random fact, and go with it. Or they’ll just make up some random strength that you can’t measure at all and that’s the reason that team will win. “I think x team will win cause they’re tougher”.
