Not even close to being a goaltend, the refs up to their usual antics.

Really? I can't tell - I don't think it's goaltend, but does it hit the rim first?

They have one great angle, and they keep showing the stupid angle where you can't tell over and over again like morons.

That is without a doubt the worst call I have ever seen. Decided the game and it was a horrendous, contested shot attempt by Alford. WOW. Poor SMU.

Alford also got away with a pretty blatant discard on his three right before that. Gotta keep the games interesting!

its a clear and obvious goaltend. The ball was 99 percent not going to go in based on trajectory, but it was going to careen off the rim and go wide right. the SMU guy that touched it is a moron.
I agree. SMU figured out a way to give that game away at the end.

My bracket is officially shot, had SMU and Texas winning a few games...

Awful. And I don't know what the hell that commentator is looking at.

you have to allow the ball to hit the rim if its going to hit the rim. goaltending is not waived off just because the ball was most likely not going in. you have to give it a chance to complete its trajectory to the rim.

They showed a better angle in the studio. Everybody in the studio agreed it was not a goaltend.

I agree with you. The first couple of replays I thought "BS". However, there was one angle showing the player touching the ball just before it was about to hit the rim, albeit the shot would not have gone in. According to the rule the call was correct IMO.

Not in the cylinder but above the rim off line. Should have been reviewed.

the ball is over the rim. you cant touch it. no..its in all likelihood going to miss badly. but part of that ball is over the rim. that is the rule. and from this angle you cannot tell depth...the ball was not past the rim yet. What is number two doing touching it. he is a darwin award honorable mention.

Verdict: NO goaltend!

Verdict: Goaltend!

Even from that poor angle, the front of the ball is over the rim. But, beyond that, the trajectory of the ball would carry it to the rim. Now, that said, get the overhead shot and you will see, clearly, it's a goaltend.

Live I thought no goaltend. Initial replay from behind the basket I thought goaltend though no way it was going in. Now this shot says to me - wide right - no goaltend.

No one died. So no Darwin award :D

Anybody who watches Scotty's replay above and thinks that the ball was over the rim or about to touch the rim needs to get themselves down to Lens Crafters asap. I hear they have a special going on til 9 pm tonight.

I dont think you understand how Darwin Award Honorable mentions work. they are Honorable mentions BECAUSE nobody died.
