Yeah I've got that same feeling. Obviously different, but they will benefit like they did amidst the chaos at Pitt a couple years ago.Why do I think Rutgers will benefit from this?

I could see we have a decent shot at one...OL Donovan Smith
Guys... I think we're being too short sighted thinking about what players we should go after... I have one name that I would target...Larry Johnson.
agree. remember, they still get to play football, which is really all that matters. in '12 & '13 they should field a pretty good program, its the guys with a lot of time left that will likely head out of dodge and then with the reduced amounts of schollys, its the '14+ years that will be a tough row to hoe.If I was a true frosh just heading in I would transfer in a heartbeat, 5 years left, no sit out or just use your red shirt

Unfortunately your feelings are spot on. Just like the situation at Pitt the other poster mentioned in this thread Rutgers is going to end up finding gold again because of another schools actions. PSU has a bunch of NJ guys committed allready for this class and I am sure most will likely now decomitt. Unreal how that program keeps falling into these gifts.
As long as he brings in his normal haul, I'm fine with him coming on board. Nothing has linked any of this to him, so I have to believe he's in the clear at this point.Would he come with the snake oil?
Personally, I'd prefer staying as far away from any Penn State coaches as possible. You never know what might come out in the future, and that's not the kind of attention we need, particularly after the Bernie Fine thing. As long as he brings in his normal haul, I'm fine with him coming on board. Nah!
Rutgers ain't a substitute for Penn State. These kids, who do transfer or switch their commitments are going to look at better programs than Rutgers.
Do you really think that kids who committed to PSU had Rutgers as their second choice? Look for the to land at better programs.
You would think so but look how many decommits they got after the Pitt coaching change. A lot of those players are NJ kids and while RU likely wasnt there second choice they may to go back home. Major programs arent going to have the room or ability to take in 3-4 transfers each, RU is likely to make out in this scenario once again.
Also check the RU rivals board out they allready have a thread with potential players who could transfer mostly NJ guys and guys they lost out on head to head with PSU.

That's because they brought a Pitt coach on board [OC], correct?
