So do we get St Penn Transfers?

Yeah, I forgot that PSU filled its class last year by poaching our recruits . . . .

LOL can a Rutgers board and or site get anything right?

Does the ability to transfer without penalty expire at any point? For example, say a freshman this year decides to stay, but in a year or two changes his mind and wants to go somewhere that has a chance to go to a bowl. Can he still transfer without sitting out a year?

No if they choose to stay they have to follow the normal procedures if they change there minds down the road.

Thanks. So when's the deadline for their decision? It must be coming up soon. First day of classes?

Unfortunately your feelings are spot on. Just like the situation at Pitt the other poster mentioned in this thread Rutgers is going to end up finding gold again because of another schools actions. PSU has a bunch of NJ guys committed allready for this class and I am sure most will likely now decomitt. Unreal how that program keeps falling into these gifts.
they wouldn't had we a better presence in nj

Not sure on the specific deadline, maybe when the season starts as you mentioned. Obviously new recruits have until signing day.

Lou Holtz just raised a very good point. When SMU got the Death Penalty in '87, college coaches descended on the campus to recruit their players. Apparently, that's not allowed anymore; it's considered tampering, a NCAA violation. So HCDM can't stroll into Happy Valley and hope to come away with a handful of signees. The players would have to approach SU. Doesn't seem to me that were were the second choice to many current PSU players or recruits.
This is a moot point.. While HCDM can't walk into Happy Valley, he can pick up the phone and call the kids parents to inquire if mutual interest may exist..

I don't know how many NJ guys they have coming in this year, but their current roster is LOADED (sarcasm font) with NJ talent. I counted 7 whole guys from NJ on their 96 man roster listed above. That's 1.4 per recruiting class.

We can promise them all a chance to play Penn State. Without going to a Big Ten school, we're one of the few that can guarantee that for next season.

NO NO NO NO. I still can't believe PSU kept LJ on the staff through this whole ordeal. There have been whispers of something fishy up there for a while. No shot I buy that LJ didn't know about Sandusky et al. He should have been let go after the Freeh report came out.

Bingo. I can't believe be survived being there for so long. It's a 20 hour/day fraternity. He knew. But be was their best recruiter. I knew LJ and still know a lot of MD people. He has a "unique" way of recruiting. I don't think Marrone would ne interested at all.

I want Marrone and the staff on the phone cold calling any of these PSU kids who they think can help.

Exactly. Frank Beamer just said on the radio that he'll go back and talk to his staff about it ie: who can help us.
