So does a game like this restart the rivalry with BC?

If I was BC, SU would be my big rivalry. First, SU's Pearl beats ranked BC on a last second shot in 1984.(we were unranked) Then SU's Diamond Ferri almost single handed beats BC eliminating them from getting the Big East football title in their last year before heading to the ACC. Then today, we beat them and held their Heisman hopeful to 29 yards on 9 carries before getting hurt. Yup if I were BC I'd consider us a huge rival . The real question is if we would ever consider BC as a true rival since when the stakes were high, we historically prevail. Sounds cocky but I don't mean it to be - just the way it seems to have been.

I was kind of bummed Williams got knocked out of the game. Now the media and non-fans will see he was hurt and think he stunk it up because of injury - not our D, which held him in check sans that one TD run.

BC is our rival in football, whether fans on this board want to accept that or not.

Depends on your definition of a "rivalry". I'd say we had a "rivalry" with Georgetown in basketball. You have the bar set too low, IMHO.

Based on the hothead BC player the camera caught bombing at the end of the game, I would say this game was a good start!

I work with a guy who started at BC in the 2004-2007 era. His first words upon hearing I went to Cuse was "Diamond ..ing Ferri - that guy killed us".
