I'm really trying to be optimistic with this recent portal activity but I'm just not seeing a great class (and new roster) so far. I really hope there are some fireworks ahead.

I don’t agree. We’ve significantly upgraded the backcourt. It’s already better than this past season.

I'm not sold on this yet. We don't have a lead PG who can get buckets and close out games. We need a Judah kind of alpha for this to be a good backcourt.

Dual is a poor FT shooter. He can't close out games, although he's a solid ball handler and will provide great defense.

The new 2G looks very good. Moesch is a good third PG.
Mahmutovic drives a lot, but we have a lot of shooting guards. I see him and Doty getting time at the 3. I wonder if we'll get another natural forward?

Kiyan has to get better, and most hope (expect?) that he will. He's a weak spot if he has to play for political reasons, and he's not much better than he was last year, especially in terms of effort, willingness to pass, and shot selection.

I think we are still functionally incomplete, without another important guy or two.

I hope your relative recovers. The reason I posted that is that you did take the time to call out people after this commit who were excited about our rankings. I didn't say you were wrong about that. But fair is fair. It was noticeable that the same people that seem to knock both our pickups and other posters, were noticable absent when we got a verbal from a pretty good player.

Put it this way - if the pattern was reversed and they were actively posting and celebrating news that you agreed with but went silent for the other stuff I’m guessing you wouldn’t feel the need to point that out.

Bottom line - there is a thing called the vocal minority who just prefer to complain. Simply being annoying and disagreeable doesn’t mean it should be criticized though. It’s why this country is in such a bad place - intolerance for diverging perspectives.

I disagree that you shouldn't criticize when someone is being annoying and disagreeable. You seem to be calling me out for complaining about it. I don't care what views anyone else has. However, It is fair to point out when supposing syracuse fans fail to post when we get an excellent commit but never fail to point out when we miss.

That has some truth to it, however tolerance for idiocy, prejudice and behaviors coupled with beliefs that literally destroy society are to be allowed? Certainly from a micro to a macro perspective. Tolerance is a good thing if it is for the right reasons, however intolerance to evil, prejudice, and behaviors that hurt others should not be tolerated. It however is now in the name of tolerance. Those norms are forever changing in today's society. Just turn on the TV. Is that good for my child so many of the exposures? No freaking way. It's flipped upside down, what was once good and kind is now being called evil and what was once called wrong is now being called good. Truth and mercy must be mixed together otherwise there will be an imbalance and that is what you are seeing today for sure. Bigger than a ball, however that ball can certainly do a lot of good in so many ways...

Agreed- also as good as Providence is ranked they may have really stepped in it adding both the PG and C from Northwestern…. Not all things are as rosy as they look despite the rankings.
