So... How do board members

introduce themselves to one another? After reading CuseTroop's Chicago journey with the multiple board members mentioned, how do you get to that point? I was at Cameron Indoor for the Duke bad call Jimmy B. flip out game, chatting with SU fans waiting in line, hanging around outside, etc. I felt this weird tension like do I make myself look like a tool with a "So, errr, hey, are you on the Syracusefan message board? If so what's your avatar name?!" it's a mystery to me, one yet to be experienced. I imagine it's doubly hilarious and awkward if you know their board name and they don't know yours. Enlighten me with some good stories of board member intro successes or failures!:eat popcorn:

No joke, I found out someone I *work* with is on the board.

How about that!

Great guy. Clearly my favorite co-worker in my co-worker power rankings.

I said pretty much exactly this to a middle-aged guy at the regional in Washington three years ago. He was nice before that, but he looked at me like a total weirdo once I mentioned the internet thing.

That's the only time I've struck out, though. Usually they offer some kind of "Oh, OttoMets, sure!" even though they probably have no idea who that is.

and to be clear...find cto.

the introduction will be much more...oh, how you say...professional.

That depends...the professionalism of NYCFAN's introductions will be inversely proportional to the number of degrees in the angle at which he is holding his upper body to his lower body...

If he is standing straight up, you are good to go...if it is 30 or less, take your chances...anything over 30 and fuhgheddaboutit...find CTO ASAP...

I've always been amazed that he can stand with his upper body at a 45 degree angle to his lower body and yet still hold his beer perfectly perpendicular to the floor so as not to ever spill a single drop...

Imagine my surprise when I found out that one of my co-workers in Kansas of all places is a board lurker. We sit across from each other and have this hanging between us for all the KU fans in the office.

yeah I had the same issue. I had gotten Adam's number and was texting, we got to the Dino a little late before the game and I clearly didnt recognize anyone. so we chilled in the back then went to the game after slamming down some beers. was an amazing trip though.

Again, freaked out. That is one beautiful coincidence! And you got that dope SU Ball logo. Ah, I still have shorts with it.

I tried the whole "Are you on syracusefan.com" thing in Chicago. The guy goes "Heck yea I am!" When I asked his board name, he said, "What? Oh, I thought you asked if I was a Syracuse Fan..." and walked away lol.

The "find cto" idea is a solid one. The amount of people she has introduced me to is ridiculous.

Or you could go the ol Cusetroop route... Just post drunk pictures of yourself, and people will find you.

I also have added a bunch of people from here to facebook over the years, that helps with the facial recognition, and makes it easier to plan meet ups and such.

I think T-shirts would be too hard, as we all have our favorite cuse shirts to wear during games. There used to be a Pin years ago no? I say we bring that back.

Or you could do like I did. Make some vague plans through PM and then text messages. Drive 5 hours through the Alaskan outback to a shady camp ground and hope for the best.

I've met several members of this board and a previous one through a similar process to that. Haven't met one I'm not glad to know.

Hey man, you caught a fish, and I didnt try to kiss you once!

For the last SU-Gtown game at the Verizon Center a few years ago I knew I was sitting next to or near Jake. I just asked the person sitting next to me which of them was Jake. Met Bill Orange too and their wives. Then we had to leave because we were too hammered from being second in line at Clydes. Damn Chic filet couldn't save me from that drunken afternoon. Good times

Seriously everyone on the board I've met is pretty awesome, although I haven't met many.

Somehow I lost track of your shenanigans when I deactivated Facebook - I've got to get you back on my feed

Oh and JDubbin - one small word of advise I can give.
Watch out for the unlikes, cause they'll sneak up on ya. Meaning, I liked one post on a page of many posts and then when I "mass" like, I unlike it by accident. Happens to the best of em.

Love those shorts. I am only 5'7 so they basically go 2 inches past my knee, but they are reverse-able. Orange one side blue on the other!

I am right around the same height! Between 5'6 and 5'7 and they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy long on me. :)
Again. Freaked. As I am not sure I ever tried to reverse them. Could be in for a pleasant surprise when I get home!
