So... How do board members

I tried the whole "Are you on syracusefan.com" thing in Chicago. The guy goes "Heck yea I am!" When I asked his board name, he said, "What? Oh, I thought you asked if I was a Syracuse Fan..." and walked away lol.

The "find cto" idea is a solid one. The amount of people she has introduced me to is ridiculous.

Or you could go the ol Cusetroop route... Just post drunk pictures of yourself, and people will find you.

I also have added a bunch of people from here to facebook over the years, that helps with the facial recognition, and makes it easier to plan meet ups and such.

I think T-shirts would be too hard, as we all have our favorite cuse shirts to wear during games. There used to be a Pin years ago no? I say we bring that back.
The pin is a War Otto SyracuseFan. I think there were only about 25 available at the time which was Many years ago.

Meet by chance and blind luck. Only a couple people probably know this story. I had knee surgery a few years ago, and had to do physical therapy. So I'm there one day and there was a guy, also a patient, who was discussing SU recruiting. So I asked him where he gets his information, and he mentioned a couple websites and then Syracusefan.com. Surprised, I said "Wow, You're on the board?" and he said "Yes, I'm Orangeyes" My jaw hit the floor I think. We then proceeded to talk SU endlessly during our workouts, which kind of pissed off the therapists, one of whom is a WVU grad:p And sometimes we would talk for an hour after we were done. That's how by chance I met one of the best men I've ever known, Dan Johnson.

It would be great if we had T-Shirts with SyracuseFan.com on them.

Somebody should have another round of War Otto shirts made.

I have a couple pieces of boats paraphernalia, but my t-shirts are all getting completely worn out.

I wore the Big 12 Champs shirt to death, and yet still wear it's remains to this day!

I don't know, the easiest route is to avoid asking about Syracusefan.com. You're just going to creep people out that don't know what you're talking about.

Pick some board legend, I would suggest BRNFCVCUSE and ask if the person you're wondering about has seen your friend...

Example, "Hey, you seen my friend BRNVFCVSE, he went looking to run some game against some SU walk-ons, but I lost track of him."

introduce themselves to one another? After reading CuseTroop's Chicago journey with the multiple board members mentioned, how do you get to that point? I was at Cameron Indoor for the Duke bad call Jimmy B. flip out game, chatting with SU fans waiting in line, hanging around outside, etc. I felt this weird tension like do I make myself look like a tool with a "So, errr, hey, are you on the Syracusefan message board? If so what's your avatar name?!" it's a mystery to me, one yet to be experienced. I imagine it's doubly hilarious and awkward if you know their board name and they don't know yours. Enlighten me with some good stories of board member intro successes or failures!:eat popcorn:

In Atlanta my daughter and I were standing in line to get into "the" designated Cuse bar (name not remembered). There were lots of people sitting outside and no chance in hell that Laura and I would be able to find a table on our own. So, I just yelled out "Syracusefan.com! Syracusefan.com! Anybody a member?" A table close by had several people raise their hands. I called, "I'm Beadle!" They yelled, "BEADLE!" Immediately they made room for me and Laura and we had a delightful couple hours. They were lurkers and of course, I have forgotten their screen names.

A great time was had by all until it was time to go to the Dome and I reached into my purse and discovered I had one ticket for that night and one ticket for Monday night. But that's another story (previously recounted).

I have also tried going up to people in bars and asking if they are on syracusefan.com, but that has never worked for me. I got lucky in Atlanta!

Or you could do like I did. Make some vague plans through PM and then text messages. Drive 5 hours through the Alaskan outback to a shady camp ground and hope for the best.

I've met several members of this board and a previous one through a similar process to that. Haven't met one I'm not glad to know.

I'm not sure you want to risk meeting me then! ;)

I like that! You just inspired me to possibly make a cardboard sign with Syracusefan.com to hold in the airport next to the names of the high rollers who have chauffeurs! (or maybe elsewhere too)

The pay side members will be wearing their Syracusefan War Otto pins.
