And then, as he goes on in his college basket highlights, he says how good Florida is and how good a couple other teams we've beaten are, (Boy do I wish I had the tape).

So Douggie???, Let me see if I have this straight??? SU hasn't played anyone yet, Yet SH and Fla are really good?

Is there anyone in the national media that will say; "This SU team is REALLY, REALLY GOOD!"?

Jesus I was just about to post this. He said it so fast like he had to get it in before anyone could hear him. I was like Florida? Didnt we beat them? And didnt we just beat a ranked Marquette team? Seriously?

I completely agree. Even partial observers who don't share the level of Syracuse fanatacism that I do, i.e. other family members have remarked many times to me this year about how "Syracuse doesn't get a lot of media coverage or respect, considering they're #1."

I'm hoping we can get in on the Pro-ACC bias at that point. Every win UNC or Duke has is a good win and every loss is to a very good team but they only won because UNC or Duke beat themselves, per the media.

I'm well-aware of the history between DG and JB/SU, but I think Gottlieb likes to play on that history and make silly comments to rile people up, like talking about how SU hasn't played anyone within the same segment where he talks up teams that we've beaten. DG has a sarcastic sense of humor and it wouldn't surprise me if he has a running joke with people on the set about adding some digs at SU, just for show.

Let's be honest, we're easy marks because of how defensive we are any time someone says anything remotely negative about us. I say "us" because I am that way too.

Doug makes strange remarks against every team (well, except maybe OK St or others in his beloved Big12). We just pay alot more attention when he talks about Syracuse. We cant have everyone gushing over us, and I'd much rather have Bobby Knight and Bilas liking us than Gottlieb.
