Or his ideas were too complicated. He got away from the simple, executable plays that got him to the offensive guru status he had for a while. I've forgotten now, but there were some big name schools that picked his brain to help innovate their teams.Agreed. Believe it or not...Coach D was actually considered an innovator back in the day. I always thought that one of the reasons (among many) Coach P struggled in the end was that Coach D ran out of ideas.
