Was called by Notre Dame about staying independent, yet making sure they have ties to the BE in other sports.

Then why meet with some of the football schools? This is a hoops/"Olympic sports" issue.

Yukon has indicated that they won't be there.

The UCONN people need to approach the ND people and convince them that the both of them are at the wrong party.

Notre Dame calls a meeting of the Big East football schools and they show up with hat in hand???!!!

They should have told them to go screw themselves.

Honestly, I think that's a false rumor. I think the 6 BE schools are meeting just to determine the best course of action. ND has very little to do with it.

I could see ND attending a meeting with the basketball schools, though.

So UConn will have an official, but not the representative equivalent. Villanova FOOTBALL seeks representation but is not authorized at this point.

How can any of those schools honestly say they will stick it out and will not look to move to one of the super conferences let alone actively pursue moving like UConn and West Virginia apparantly are doing?

Shows that the MWC is definitely considered second-rate even to the current state of the Big East and its future.
