Isn’t Kingz in his last year too?
And certainly if Donnie keeps playing at this level he’ll start to show up in mock draft first round projections. But if he has a lull and ends up in Judah territory it’s not inconceivable that he returns to dispel the injury prone label.

Played 2 years of Division II ball, missed a year with an injury and this is his second year at D1. I suppose a waiver request and potentially a suit would be based on missing out on NIL opportunities during that second year at D2. Don’t believe NIL was in place his true freshman year.

That’s why I think he’s close to breaking out. Too good of a shooter. Eventually that has to regress to the mean.

I know this is Satire, but no we're not back. These are the few games in the ACC we should absolutely win, and win by more than single digits. If not for Donnie we don't win any of the past few games. The coaching and offense (or lack thereof) is still abysmal. I want so badly for Cuse to make the tourney, but if that means extending Red, I hope we miss out. Donnie's gone (pro) after this year, and I don't see anyone coming in to fill those shoes.

Problem is that is 3 starters. I think we can replace JJ with who we have, but we need 2 impact players to replace Donnie and Kyle.

I am not sold on Sadiq being that guy yet.

Replacing Donnie and Kyle will be tough and I can't imagine we get a 1 for 1 in totality.

If there is any shot Donnie may consider staying, they should throw a bag at him the size of Scrooge McDuck's vault that he can dive into.

Kyle is a bummer. I wish we could have had another year with him.

Sadiq has shown more skill than I expected tbh. He's really inconsistent (as freshmen are) and puts himself in position for the refs to pick on him, but he'll mature a lot. He finds ways to be productive and played like a legitimate starter while Freeman was out. Freeman is on a different level for sure but Sadiq has room to grow.

I think Sadiq's touch really improved over the last year or so. It's better than I expected. Like you said, he's not Donnie, but he's got a pretty high ceiling and might be really good sooner rather than later. With that said, I wouldn't put all my chips in his basket for next year unless we're stacked at all other positions.

Would definitely need someone that can give solid PF minutes. Betsey looks like he has the size but definitely not the game.

Well the nice thing is there is a chance to build momentum on some cupcakes. The beginning of the season we were rolling some bad teams and it led to solid performances against Houston and Kansas. I don’t think we play anyone as good as Houston the rest of the way. Plus we have Donnie back in the fold.

In reality we can be “back” this year by getting into the tourney without the bubble worry. In the grand scheme of things, we need to go on a 3-5 year tournament run as a program to say we are truly back. That’s the standard.

4-1 is fine. At NC State will be difficult. I think UNC we can beat.

Assuming red status as the coach remains the same im not sure sadiq does come back, I know he is reds pickup but I doubt we would have any interest in giving him significant NIL. He isn’t performing like a near-term starter

I haven't looked at the full schedule in a bit and forgot how crazy it is that they gave us all the bad teams together and then all the good teams together. Didn't like it pre-season but who knows, there's a chance this could be a good thing for this team. Gives them time to build momentum and confidence, but they have to be able to shake off a loss and come out hungry next game once they get to the good teams.
