So, we end up with 1LB, when we Need LBs...

Very thin group. I count 8 in total, including Coker

2 will be seniors in 2012.

I think it's safe to say that will be a fairly big priority for next year.

I wonder where Donnie Simmons ends up playing?

A couple things to keep in mind here. The decommits killed this position we basically lost three LB's if you include Glanton. With Whitehurst and Glanton waiting to the last second we couldnt keep someone on the hook and lost several other good lbs earlier in the class like Walls and others to NC State, Maryland, etc. Third Id be shocked if some players arent moved to LB especially Macfarlane, also the coaches can say whatever they want but I see Myles moving back to LB if his knees hold up.

McFarlane may end up at LB as he gets bigger, but I think he starts out at SS. He's a very tenacious tackler and has the speed to blitz, so he may end up at LB in a year or two.

Donnie's a classic tweener and will probably have a situational role as a rush DE. Washington may be in the same mold. It's a wait see his Frosh year on whether or not Washington can actually transition to LB.

I was one that liked Glanton over Whitehurst. Tashon's got a great upside, but I have a hard time believing he's anything but a blitz LB on the next level, and not a complete package LB. I'm not upset about the kid not coming here. I much rather have preferred a D-Rippy, if we could only have persuaded him to come here.

I know Tull moved from LB to RB but given the numbers, a move back to LB would seem logical, but I'm sure the coaches have a better handle on where he fits than I do. Perhaps one of the new DEs moves to LB?

I really don't see this as a huge issue, though obviously a few more bodies would be nice. But you've got a good group coming back with Vaughan/Diabate/D Davis/Lynch/Spruill as well as a promising prospect in Vigille and plenty of potential for position change with a wealth of safeties and a guy like Tull, etc.
