somebody coached today

LOL. Ole Miss's defense was horrid. We spent 30 minutes missing wide open 3's and still scored 81.

Switching D's had nothing to do with Ole Miss winning. They won the game on offense.
check what happened on the 1st possession of the second half. WE were baffled...turnover. game was never the same.

it's been said that coach K learned the zone from JB. but when did we become such floppers ?
lydon gets knocked over with a feather lately.

I think Jb was fed up coaching this team and threw in the towel today, who could blame him.

Game was never the same? LOL.

We scored 81. Being "baffled" for one possession didn't lose the game. Ole Miss was "baffled" when they threw the ball directly to Thompson like 5 times. Must've been masterpiece coaching? Or they just threw the ball away a few times.

Ole Miss won the game on offense.

I think that happened about the time he pulled Gillan for several minutes in the second half.

Ole Miss won the game on offense.

An offense that was never challenged with anything different than what they prepared for all week, and we clearly comfortable executing against.

Right. I'm sure our defense would've been great if we just "switched it up". Gotta trick 'em!

SMH.

That's where our end of the 1st half slide and continued 2nd half slide started. Momentum went the other way. It was catchup the rest of the way
Oh and they won on offense??? 2nd half SU defense was tremendous...lol SAME NO CHANGE D got eaten alive.

Right. Being totally predictable is a great strategy.

Who could blame him? Uh, I'll take a crack.

He recruited these guys and didn't recruit some other guys who are flourishing at other teams and wanted to come here.

He's got two eventual first round picks and an All-ACC player who is the best shooter in the conference. Guarantee you Ole Miss, or 80% of the teams we lost to don't have that talent.

His recruiting and coaching style is stale. Along with the uncertainty this situation is creating, it's time to move on.

throwing an occasional ess curve in the road at least makes the opponent read and react.

Right. Ole Miss's D really "baffled" us. It's why White couldn't make a wide open 3 for 35 minutes. He was too "baffled" and "confused".

Right. We'd be LOCKING teams up if we went man!
There were MULTIPLE zones employed by Ole Miss. TYrap at half court. VARIATION>>>>> That causes decision making by the offense. SAME ZONE same result. Beat by a lesser team...YET AGAIN.

Your original post said Ole Miss won because their coach "coached" and your example was he "switched defenses sometimes".

the belief our kids can't play man is perhaps the greatest fallacy perpetrated by the JB faithful. of course they can. and they all would if they played at any other school. we have a coach who doesn't believe in it.
we have a coach who would drive a car around the block becuz he doesn't believe in using the reverse gear.

Multiple zones huh? And you're a Syracuse fan? And you think we do the same thing all the time? Watch closer.

"Decision making by the offense"...only decisions we had to make today was who would take the wide open shot this time down. Ole Miss's D was horrendous...as was ours. Only problem we had on offense was our good shooters missed too many easy shots that they usually make.

JB has been successful with the zone. But you need a different look when your opponent is knocking down 3s. Even if it's just for a few minutes -- just to get your opponent out of its rhythm.

Apparently, this is a controversial theory. Hey, maybe we can do it for football too. Babers could create a patented nickel defense that we stay in regardless of score or field position or what personnel the offense has on the field. We could really focus on it in practice!

In the years where we are good defensively(which is most years)...sure, we could play man.

We were bad defensively this year because...wait for it...we had too many bad defensive players.
