Someone Had To Do It: Miami Attendance

If they wanted to get creative with promotions they should offer 1 free plowing for every ticket purchased. or a rebate for a dollar off every inch of snow the airport receives this weekend.

He never mentions it. But it's pretty obvious on what's being released in TM and then when you actually look at the crowd.

Must be some really ugly people in 320. Everyone hates it there, especially up high.
Those are darn good seats, I don't get it.

Looks like this was only for a select few games and right now you can only sign up for MBB and WBB. Thanks for posting though.
If you read below it says available to purchase $10 tix for all 7 games, on gameday at Gate (Gate B)

If you are unable to sign up for the Military Pass due to the limited games or have missed the deadline, you will have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets when gates open on game day, based on availability. Tickets will be best available in reserved upper-level corner/end zone seats and are $10 each (limit of 4). These are available for any of our seven (7) home football games in the JMA Wireless Dome, as inventory remains. Patrons must present their Military ID to receive the discount. **Please read the FAQ List as these $10 seats will not be seated with the complimentary tickets via the Military Pass registration online.

All the same caveats apply that we've gone over a million times on the board but the big one is SU isn't giving away tickets anymore for these games. As DPCuse pointed out if you don't have season tickets and you want to go to the game it isn't going to be cheap unless your OK sitting way up top so I assume more then a few who considered it will instead choose to watch it from home or apparently go to Meiers Creek.

The holiday weekend is also a factor. I know several regulars who will be missing the game due to Thanksgiving.

Lastly while Miami moves the needle for us diehards, SU has played Miami once the last two decades and not at home in more then two decades. The casual fan probably doesn't even realize a playoff bid is on the line for Miami much less our history.
Here’s the thing. At a certain point there’s no excuses. I saw people cherry picking the most expensive 300 level tix, fine.

SU is giving away $65 low levels for their Black Friday special. That’s very reasonable for a p5 college football game,

resell people are trying to make a mint in a soft market as well.

Demand is a fickle thing.

I figure unless demand is high its better for the school to no-resell my tickets

if some pays my $50 for a resell the school gets less money than if someone buys a non season ticket for $50?

It would’ve been better if those seats were empty.
I love it when opposing teams bring a ton of fans into the Dome. It makes the entire experience more entertaining. It feels like a heavyweight fight.

100%, there's plenty of reasonably priced ways to get into the Dome for this game. .

My point earlier in the year when this came up was that there is a small sliver of the fanbase who will always have some sort of excuse to not attend and there's no doubt that unless the circumstances are near perfect they won't attend for a variety of reasons.

However, the larger issue is that there's a much larger chunk of the general sports fanbase locally (the very casual SU fan or really observer) that simply isn't attending the game because they have no desire to and it doesn't even really occur to them that's an option. I know dozens of these types of people, they don't even know there is a black Friday deal and even if tickets were half of the cost of the dea they'd rather watch it at home or whatever. People (not saying you) generally overestimate by a large margin the amount of SU fans who are fence sitters locally. There's diehards, a small 10-15% slice of fence sitters and the rest simply follow SU on the periphery and aren't even really fans.

I purchased two season tickets this year to attend two home games. Just over $400 all in. I was able to sell (inside and outside of Ticketmaster) and transfer my seats for Stanford, Holy Cross, and Virginia Tech and donated/gave away GT and UCONN.

I made back ~$180 bucks selling those 3 games for cheap. So, essentially we're paying ~$240 to guarantee the seats we wanted for Ohio and Miami. That's $60/seat on average to sit third level at the 30 yard line on the Cuse sideline.

This was much cheaper than single seats are going for in our section. It took some minor effort to sell and transfer the tickets but it worked out well going this route.
Could have saved even more if we played Miami of Ohio.

Game 12 Home attendance is usually bad. Not having the students drags things down. Although part of the issue has been us not being any good.

2023 worst P4 home game by nearly 6k (5955)
2021 worst P4 by 4k (4002)
2019 worst P4 by 9k (9138) and worst overall by nearly 7k (6856)
2017 worst P4 by 3k (3088) and only 471 better than the worst
2015 next to last P4 by 485
2013 next to last P4 by 2k (2089)

Not me, don’t like it at all, I don’t even like it when they have a lot of fans at away games !

I know 320 is the section with the most handsome people!
