No and that’s why I said I don’t know for sure obviously it’s my opinion and I’m sure most people share that opinion as well. And yes it is a fact that in the past because it comes out on tax records that we have been behind the eight ball in terms of coaching salaries and all that that you’re talking about And we have definitely gotten better but pretty much all I was saying in my post is that we need to take another couple steps forward and continue to get better if we want to compete.Do you have any figures and analysis to back up what you're saying? Where do we actually stand as far as coaching salary pool, facilities expenditures, etc. I'm not interested in where we stand vs. the factories as we will never match them, but where are we against our peers. It's easy to just state that we're not committing meaningful dollars and that's why we went 5-7, but do actually know this to be the case? I'm not saying you are full of hot gas, just wondering because I've read from other sources that this presumed funding chasm vs our peer competitors doesn't exist.
Hes a fantastic and a solid coach.Marrone was a pretty credible coach. Two 8-win seasons in four years and we were even drastically more competitive in his Year 1 than we were the previous season. He then went on to have two NFL head coaching jobs and had some success in those spots as well. Guy may be a pr!ck but he's a pretty good coach.
For sure
100% even Bees was full of piss and vinegar back then..
OK I just wanna get this straight, your friend or source says that the financial gap between us Syracuse university and most of the top 20 schools that are there year in and year out I just wanna get this straight that the top schools athletic departments are getting putting out more money whether it’s donors, the state funding, and their athletic departments as well. Don’t have the numbers in front of me of course but I am definitely waiting to see what we ended up paying Babers with that raise if it’s 4 million a year that’s a good step forward.Do you have any figures and analysis to back up what you're saying? Was this back when the payside meant something lol
It was back when we were accepting applications. Was this back when the payside meant something lol
Re-read what I wrote, a little more carefully this time, focusing on the mention of peers. We're not going to compete cost- wise with the big dogs, aka top 20s. Nowhere did I say spending doesn't impact record. You implied that the reason we aren't winning more is because we aren't making any investments in facilities and our coaches are under paid. Maybe you just started following SU last week and aren't aware of the capital spending over the last 5-7 years. Our practice facilities are right up there with all but the very top programs. The new apartment complex on south campus where many of the athletes live are very nice. We're spending a couple of dollars on a new roof for the Dome. And, from what I've heard, our coaches are doing just fine in the pay department. Compare all of the above vs our peers (ACC schools not named Clemson, FSU and VPI) and get back to me.OK I just wanna get this straight, your friend or source says that the financial gap between us Syracuse university and most of the top 20 schools that are there year in and year out I just wanna get this straight that the top schools athletic departments are getting putting out more money whether it’s donors, the state funding, and their athletic departments as well. To say the amount of money that an athletic department gets will not determine or play a major role with the results on the field, I can’t understand how somebody could think otherwise
Matt Hale?FIFY...that was the worst when they offered a scholarship to a 2nd string QB from Ontario. No sure he ever saw the field.
Think he means the cross dressing FBI dude unless he also used a vacuum on certain body parts.the vacuum guy?
I don't know who "he" is, but I was referring to the ex-president named by Archie and Edith in their song.Think he means the cross dressing FBI dude unless he also used a vacuum on certain body parts.
While I don’t believe Lynch is going anywhere, some of us wouldn’t mind a new (co-)OC coming in and doing the play calling. Lynch could be co-OC or AHC.my head is really starting to hurt and I don't think Lynch is going anywhere anyway
Lustig is currently AHC. Then again McCloud was AHC before Lustig. While I don’t believe Lynch is going anywhere, some of us wouldn’t mind a new (co-)OC coming in and doing the play calling. Lynch could be co-OC or AHC.
There is-no/shouldn’t-be-an AHC cap... it’s just a way to pay assistants more without having them be a/the coordinator.Lustig is currently AHC. Then again McCloud was AHC before Lustig.
