I've posted this before, but it's a damn gem that should be heard. Still can't figure out how John Hall's record company didn't release this as a single.
 
For me, one of the best and most enduring Christmas songs. Great songwriting and message from Ray Davies, excellent video, and a reminder that brother Dave paved the way for British and American punk.

My favorite Christmas playlist is a Pandora "station" I seeded with this song. Nothing but killer tracks.
 
Lance Hoppen's bass playing is tremendous. Wells Kelly, gone too soon, was a hell of drummer. Such a great Orleans lineup on these early recordings.
