I don't know if todays' scrimmage will be open to the media.

Will there be an interview with Babers today?

I guess I'm amazed by how little conversation there is this Spring surrounding the team...

Is interest down?
Is it because of limited coverage?
I'm willing to bet the Spring showcase will suffer.

I have a million questions, but I feel like we get very little access. I mean there's been an article or two a week on different position groups, but, that's it really.

I'm willing to bet a lot of it is the lack of coverage of/access to the program. Hard to get excited over something when you have so little information. Hopefully, as the program begins to move towards a perennial bowl team (fingers crossed), HCDB will loosen up a bit in terms of the information flow.

I also think basketball has been a little more distracting than normal.

Thanks a lot G League.

It is really the limited media access and lack of communication from the staff. I went back and looked at other Spring practice threads from years past. The media was able to interview the HC, the OC and DC. This staff is controlling the message to such a degree that there is no message.

I crave info and check threads everyday but info is scarce. Like mike said, i’m willing to trade this off for wins in the fall.

4 wins a season and minimal media availability aren't a recipe for building fan interest. I fail to see how an OC or DC spending 10min after practice with the media in April (the bare minimum) will keep them from winning a game in November.

Nobody has even commented on a spring scrimmage. I assume mainly because almost no one knows there was one. This post was made in a spring practice thread after info was released at 6:30 last night and nothing was mentioned on Syracuse.com about it. Doesn't seem they care too much about how many attend the spring game.

Practice was closed so we get the program filtered positive highlights release. Hard to know too much of what happened as you don't have context of who it was against.
I am surprised that non of the mentioned highlights are plays made by any of the promising youngsters. Was hoping some would be. Are they not getting the opportunities?
Seems to be a lot of sacks. I guess thats a good thing. All seem to be from DL. I know there is likely to be more sacks since its probably a lot of touch tackles on the QB's but wonder which QB's were taking them? Who on the OL is getting beat? What DB's are getting burned?

Questions that most probably won't get answered so I think people aren't asking the questions.

Last year Orange Club members were invited to a closed scrimmage a week before the Spring game. No such invitation this year. I think if Dino had his way there would be NO fan or media involvement except on game days. Not exactly the way to build excitement while the program is trying to sell tickets.

Hard to answer questions when there is no one available to ask.

Agree. I don't care if he makes the assistants available to the media, but wish he would open things up a little bit- especially to the people who are putting the big time support behind the program like yourself.

Let's be honest, we have some great loyal fans, but not a huge number. This isn't the south where there is a lot of natural excitement for college football, especially after the struggles pretty much since 2000.

Ultimately, all it matters is he will win, but it would be nice to get a little bit of info.

It was hell recalls formerly young man. We were starved for actionable football info.

It could be noted that years ago we bathed ourselves in significantly less SU Football information than in today's privileged Internet Age. Maybe a dinky article in the Post-Standard on Tim Moresco, or Arnie Burdick offering up a morsel on recruiting in his Herald-Journal column. A little TV sports during the season and the Press Guide with our season's tickets. That was pretty much it.

Today's buffet of info is preferable, but there was something romantically appealing (in a sports way) about not being privy to every nuance. I mean we all know who scored yesterday Recap: Spring Scrimmage #2 - Cuse and what happened at the scrimmage. I sometimes like the mystery of it.

Heck, we used to drive up to Coyne Field sometimes and watch Hurley, Monk and Morris practice or maybe get a picture w/Jamie Kimmel after practice.

Great shot of Sean Riley being held aloft like he's a stuffed animal prize won at the State Fair.

The elephant in the room has yet to be mentioned.

I will not eat until this imaginary starting QB controversy is settled
