Steve Angeli: Torn Achilles

Love the fact that we are producing the most prolific passing quarterbacks. This should be attractive to top recruits.
A few years ago, someone (Millhouse?) was advocating that SU focus on a high octane passing attack to take advantage of the dome and attract top end QBs and WRs*. We had it going for 1.3 seasons and it was good! We'll see if it can continue.

* I searched for the posts but didn't find them.

As much as bud poliquin takes a beating here, he advocated strongly 20+ years ago that we should move to an all out air attack due to playing on a carpet with perfect conditions.

I think that was Dino.

But "Air Bud" - his own self - also advocated (much like SWC) for a 2-back RB backfield.
so... take his thoughts with a huzzah, and a pound of Salt potatoes.
In this burgh.

OiG has also often stated that we should be airing it out, due to being in a Dome.

And to quote Dino "we have a Dome, and you don't! Neener! Neener!!"

With a Dome, and also a non-crowned field (see: Dome), we should indeed have elite passing AND kicking AND punting.

Millhouse definitely was in on the idea early.

I picked up the torch.

"I am 100% committed to supporting my brothers throughout the rest of this season in any way I can!"

I really hope he is planning on coming back next year. Seems like this would have been worded differently if he was planning on staying.
Wow! Can’t be more clueless than this. All he is saying is that given that he can’t play this year, he will be helping in any non-playing way he can, for the rest of this season.

I think being 100% is a bigger deal for a true dual threat qb. Steve can run, but he made his plays with the throws.
True but it is also the fact the injury might affect the snap and velocity on his passes. Only time will tell.

That article gives some hope but also explains the reality he might never get back to 100%.

It is up to God and Steve...I hope he can get all the way back.
He will be fine. Pretty young guy to get this injury. All of us old folk healed better in early 20's than we do now. Not like he was an Olympic sprinter, where fractions of a second matter. Bernie Kosar once was a quality QB in the NFL and he had the speed of a tectonic plate shifting. The harder part is the mental aspect. Will he take things slow? Will he trust his body?

My favorite Bernie Kosar line -

“Spare change moves around more in the pocket than Bernie Kosar.”

He’s young enough. He will be fine. Kevin Durant came back just fine. Jayson Tatum
Is way ahead of schedule. This isn’t 30-35 years ago when Dominique and Marino tore theirs. The medicine is way better now.

Dan Marino. My QB pick that year in FFL. Last most of 1 drive. :-(

Ironically that may have been his best chance to win a SB. They started out hot, beat the Bills in Buffalo and later cowboys on thanksgiving when Leon Lett bungled the blocked FG before they withered down the stretch with 45 year old Steve Deberg at QB.
