I just hope Rickie can settle in and get the ball to our top wideouts and playmakers, because the talent is there on the outside. If he can distribute the ball and trust those guys to make plays in space, this offense takes on a whole new level of danger. At the same time, we’ve got to lean into our identity and run the football with authority. Pound it, wear defenses down, and let the ground game open everything else up. When we’re running the out of the football, everything starts to click—play-action, deep shots, and even tempo control.
The best part is, I actually trust this defense now. They’ve shown grit, toughness, and the ability to step up when it matters. That’s not something we’ve always been able to say, but with the way they’re playing, it gives the offense room to breathe. If Rickie can manage the game, hit the weapons outside, and the run game keeps rolling, we’ve got the perfect formula: an offense that punishes teams on the ground, takes its shots when they’re there, and a defense that can lock it down and get stops.
That’s how you win games in the ACC. That’s how you start stacking wins, building momentum, and proving that this program isn’t just on the rise—it’s ready to compete week in and week out.

I can;t read all that, Rickie has a chance to prepare for a week and we will have a HUGE crowd with us.

Why would it get denied? Early season ending injuries get waivers seemingly all the time these days. Hell, it's likely they approved a waiver for Ohio State recklessly burning Kyle's redshirt for no reason.

Idk when I tore mine, I wouldn’t say my toes hung limp. I walked to the car and walked into the ER unassisted. I just felt unstable.

In my case there was no pain, just numbness and couldn't put any weight on it. Took about 15 minutes to shuffle 20 yards to the ER.
A full year from cast to rehab and I started feeling "normal" again. The mental aspect was the hardest part- just knowing I could go full tilt w/out worry. Needless to say, my HOF NBA prospects were shot.

He is currently four yards away from leading the country in passing even with the missed fourth quarter. We're going to be happy with the one more year from him we know he has. Two years would be amazing. The way things are trending in college sports I would be very surprised if, over a year from now, a waiver is denied.

Two distinct injuries. Friggin kid as tough as nails as he was getting smashed around all day (again).

First injury was a bang up deal and was just that, looked to be a patella compression type deal, no structural damage likely. Leaves you limping a little bit, but you still can play like he did.

Second injury was distinct and different, and just crazy in a young kid without a lot of time on the field especially this young of an age, almost certainly an Achilles tendon tear looked like. Dammit.

So incredibly unfortunate for sure.

Based upon your posts over the years, I'm aware that you're in the medical profession and have vast knowledge, expertise, etc. on things of this nature and I've appreciated your insights.

While watching it live, I thought it was the notorious turf monster that got him, kinda as (I believe it was Riddick) at first commented. When I saw the replay, I thought ankle sprain as it appeared as if his foot twisted somewhat in the turf. I wasn't thinking Achilles as he had already been scrambling vs. typically (it seems) these blow or pop when going from more of a still position to sudden/initial/quick first step, where the majority of inertia, torque, what have you occurs or is placed.

That is what seemingly happened to Kevin Duran when he popped his a few years back...same deal last year with Halliburton in the NBA playoffs. Ditto with Deshawn Watson last October with the Browns. All, at that initial (high torque) moment of still to fast.

Perhaps, as with Halliburton, Angeli had some underlying, achy, sore, etc. issue there? I noticed from the replay, that that particular lower leg area was taped up
