Steve Donahue out at BC...

Cornell probably will/ would take him back in a heartbeat. He benefitted from some pretty good IVY league talent while at Cornell, had the transfer from USC as well.
cornell will be looking soon. the bigger issue is that he will not be allowed to come back by the "Big Boss".. a lot of bridges burned when he left..

No way Amaker takes that job. He loves the imbalance in his favor in Ivy land.

Figured this would happen. Donahue may have moved up a year or two too early for his own good. Should have waited for a different job.

He got Monson'd

Looks like we now know who ESPN will hire to be an analyst. Move over Mr. ex coach of Vermont, there's a new cat in town.

ACC vs A10. Kellogg would be dumb if he didn't at least listen. I could see Amaker try to leverage BC to get more $ from Harvard as he's got a very good thing going there and he could dominate the Ivy for a long, long time.
Amaker would move in a heartbeat. A program that's made 2 tournaments to a program that's made 18 in a major conference with good competition. If they pay him, he goes.

Or you could say a program that can dominate their league and get into the NCAA tournament annually or a program that is falling further and further behind in what will be the best hoops conference in the country.

It's falling behind because of recruiting. Not inconceivable that with Amaker they could make a quick turnaround, they haven't been down for long.

They are at the bottom of the ACC in facilities and in fan support. No one is making a quick turnaround. BC is going to have to be patient and Amaker has failed twice, so why would he be in a hurry to leave a good situation for a bad one...unless BC overpays, which doesn't seem likely

The one upside Amaker has now is that he can recruit kids that are decent athletes and good in the classroom (at least that's my assumption as he's the coach for Harvard). He should be able to parlay that into getting better athletes who will still be able to make the grade at BC.

I don't know who BC will land, but if they get the BB version of Steve Addazio, they will recover quickly. They have 7 spots to fill in 2015 and it is much easier to turn things around in BB compared to FB. Success will bring fan support back as it does everywhere.

No offense intended to Eagle and Pat Kelly but you guys were the ones in November saying BC hoops was going to be fine this year. I'm sure the Superfans will be excited that in 2015 they will be able to host Northeastern in a 1st round NIT game. Addazio rode a Heisman finalist to a 7 win season thanks to a weak schedule, so I'm fine if BC wants to get his equivalent for hoops. Let Hop keep working the BABC program for years to come.
