If we slip up a few times, then we may be moved come March. I have very little doubt that we are a 1 seed, but if Nova is as well... who gets the EAST? I would imagine every SU fan in the world would rather be a #2 seed here, than a 1 seed in the South.

Isn't that @ Nova? I think Creighton gets rolled they were just lambasted @ Providence the other day. Quick turn around and now in a league were even the bottom crud can beat you but Prov has played well in league and Nova is easily the best team of the bunch.

What's so funny is that if our name was Duke and not Syracuse, we would be gaining #1 votes every week. We continue to beat very good teams, but get nowhere. Meanwhile, some idiot in UT moved us down to #4. Makes sense.

Agreed but we are way ahead right now with not just the head to head win but the way we crushed them. Unless we really slip that will be remembered plus we have the opportunity for adding more really good wins than they do. 3-4 losses max and we should be a 1 seed in the east, but we need some padding going into that final stretch with all those road games.

It will be interesting if Wichita State ever gets enough votes to be top 4 team. Wichita State will be a tough #2 seed come tournament time.

The only way that they get on the #1 line is to go undefeated. If they do then they should get a #1 seed. This team is not a flash in the pan team. Final four last year and Freddy Van Vleet has a lot of Tyler Ennis in him.

No chance. Going undefeated in any major conference where you have been #1 all season would never move a team down. We are both not going undefeated but I see your point.

"On paper, this is a group that deserves the preseason top 25 ranking that they will get. On paper, another trip to the Sweet 16 shouldn’t be all that surprising.

But for that to happen, a couple of things need to occur. For starters, VanVleet needs to be able to embrace the leadership, decision-making and playmaking role that’s been vacated by Armstead. The Shockers also need to stay healthy, something that was easier said than done for Marshall’s team last season. Hall missed some time with a broken thumb, and Wessel and Baker combined for 26 games between them. Most importantly, however, Wichita State needs to avoid complacency. They can’t buy into the hype. They can’t allow some preseason accolades following last year’s surprising run to Atlanta to keep them from the ‘Play Angry’ mantra."

We have some very tough games left. At Pitt, at Duke, at Virginia, at Wake and at FSU will not be easy regardless of what has happened with the conference so far. There is no shame in losing to any of these teams on the road if that happens.
