We still need to schedule some cupcakes to make players and fans feel good. Do not overschedule like Pittsburgh did this year. Even beating Penn St and Ohio St, they are still 7-6. Also I wish we did not play Iowa St in LV. If we swap opponent with Notre Dame or other 1-1 school, we would feel better.

Blowout but completely unsatisfying. Stonehill is easily the worst team we’ve played this year.
-on the bright side, George seems to have regained his confidence and played well once again.
-second consecutive game Kiyan had no assists. How has that not been addressed by the coaches. He just gets the ball and it stops.
-the fact that we don’t cut to the basket or move without the ball is beyond frustrating to watch. It is so painful watching Kyle go one on one with his back to the basket and our other four guys just stand there. Speaking of which this was easily Kyle‘s worst game of the season and his least active.
-Souare feeling entitled enough to throw up a three pointer does not speak well of our culture. He simply is not good enough to play for Syracuse. He does nothing well, even the little things. He has one basket this entire year, but in a contested game decided to shoot a corner three which understandably and predictably did not draw iron.
-we have not played with anything approaching tenacity and intensity since the Tennessee game and that is pretty disheartening. It’s not an exaggeration to say that one of our old teams would’ve won this game by 60. Red looked particularly disheartened tonight. I wonder if he is at wits end and feeling the pressure.

This game was an embarrassment for most of it.

Stuff I do like:
3 guys with 3 swats.
Sadiq solid stat line:
13 & 9, 3 swats, a dime and a steal.
Will Kyle w 10 boards & 3 swats.
Kingz sniping from 3.
Nait scoring efficiently.
JJ scoring efficiently. Plus 4 dimes.
We covered. Eventually.

Don’t like:
14/29 FT’s.

Kiyan and I both had the same number of rebounds as a dead man.
Will Kyle 1-6 “shooting”.
Nait doesn’t dish much when he’s scoring.
Betsey o-fer in 17 minutes.
We were getting outrebounded by these scrubs for the majority of the game.

I need to rewatch but Autry actually getting angry and benching Suare actually may have been a spark. Maybe that’s the key.

First half if we actually pull down the offensive rebounds there would be a lot less to complain about. Them pulling 14 off boards is just nuts. Especially since they were mostly just 50/50 balls.

Donnie rebounds alone will make a big difference.

Can’t wait to see Donnie back in the fold. Donnie, George, and Kyle can take us far. We just have to limit the rest of the team from making silly mistakes and trying to play hero ball.
JJ still thinks this is his team and can have games like tonight but also shoot us out of games as well. He needs to be managed carefully by AA.
Overall just give us max effort. That’s all we ask for.

White is so much better when he’s not trying to be a mid post facilitator. Today played within himself for the first time since Tennessee.

Betsey is a streak shooter who needs to be 35% from 3 and 75% from the line if he wants meaningful time when Donnie comes back.

Sadiq, Kiyan and Betsey is our 7.5 rotation.

The whistles, the whistles, the whistles! Is this happening in other ACC games? So tedious and makes it hard to drum up any energy at all.

But we beat the spread! I pray that Donnie coming back is the answer and that he doesn’t play tentatively because he doesn’t want to get injured again. Anyone know how Clemson is doing so far? Yes, I could look it up but I want someone else to. Thanks!
