It's definitely a challenge to seed these teams and one night can be misleading but you watch Minnesota as an 11 and Iowa State as a 10 and you say really??? Man the committee missed by a country mile with both of them. Those two look like they could get on a run and go a long way. They both have a lot more talent than your typical double digit seed.

Well, with regards to Minn, you could also say that UCLA is considerably overseeded at 6.

But yeah, lots of head scratching seedings this year for sure

Minnesota is seeded exactly where they should be.

One of my big rules for picking games is this, do not pick most Big 10 teams to advance very far, but almost always pick them against PAC 10 teams. P10 teams are soft! Minny still sucks, but a horrific match-up for UCLA.

You try that approach with the B1G this year and you're going to have a lot of red ink on your bracket. Minnesota is a helluva lot better than an 11 seed. They've been banging heads with some of the best teams in the country over the last three months. Now that they can get out of conference and play weaker teams they start to look like a decent squad. But it only takes a few minutes watching them to realize that their talent is well beyond an 11 seed. And I know UCLA is in disarray but the Gophers have some talent.

Yeah too many issues, injuries etc. with the Bruins.

They went 8-11 in B10 including losses to Purdue, Nebraska, and Northwestern. I was expecting a 9/10 seed, but 11 was not bad.

A fair seed, however, does not mean a team is not better than its seed.

Yeah and they play in BY FAR the toughest conference in the country. Four of their B1G losses were by four points or less. They beat MSU, IU, Wisc and Illinois. 8-10 in that league can be superior to much better looking records in weaker leagues.
