SU at SMU (78-69): Sun Dec 7, 3 PM

How was that a “cardiac” ending?

We were up double digits pretty much all game.

They hit a late 3 to cut it to 9.
That’s 3 possessions, best case scenario.

And then they didn’t press us or foul us, and we basically ran out the clock.

And won by 9.

Never in doubt.
It felt like it was close at the end...the way SMU came back...When you are up by 19...and the lead dips below 10, you do start to get a little nervous...

Thank you...They had the momentum, and the lead was dwindling. They had not gotten it below 11 the entire game. have we not seen this play out with either the men or the women before? Pick the pocket at the end?

I feel the refs really affected the flow of the D in the 2-4 game quarters. The foul disparity in the 2-3 quarters were ridiculous. So many touch or fathom calls against SU.

I was confused (normal for me) when SMU was awarded free throws. The announcers said a few times in the 3rd and 4th that SMU wasn’t in the bonus situation yet it appeared that they did get free throws a number of times in non shooting situations. Then SU would be called for a foul and SMU would just inbound the ball.

SMU stole a win last year by coming back winning in overtime after SU led too. Certainly didn’t want any Deja vu. Article about last year’s heartbreaking loss below.

Great, in conference win, ladies!
