I think Mike Paulus fits the schools MO of promoting from within. Whitman and Athletic experience.

Carparelli / Russ Brandon. Lyke and a fourth candidate were also interviewed.

Theodorakis I gather didn’t want to leave army yet. He’s early into the role and wants more time there.

Yup. There’s some baggage there. I’d be surprised if he was the choice.

there’s an argument we didn’t handle the NIL transition well so I think that’s a knock on his bio from his time at SU. Seems like he will eventually get a bigger AD job at some point though.

so 2 of the 3 candidates we deemed suitable for an interview of what may be the 2nd most important position on campus have baggage that takes a 2 second google search to uncover? Did we have worse interest in the AD post than we did the basketball job?

I’m going to be optimistic (for a change) and hope we had a favorite in mind to start the search. But we will see next week.
