It really has added a whole lot of stink on Syverud’s legacy.

Justly deserved stink...

It's still mind boggling he hired her to begin with.

All I can come up with is Kent either owed her a big favor for something or she knows where he has bodies buried, etc., so he tried to toss her the AD job as a favor on his way out the door... Strictly on the on the merits, she has no business being hired here for anything and this square peg/round hole fiasco really blew up in his face (...as long as we don't actually hire her as AD and put her out to pasture under Hainey.)

Got to get to the finish line, but Curry Hicks Sage knows his stuff. Reported Syracuse has secured the buy out money a few weeks ago, but for many reasons including the hiring and announcing of new leadership, I can say while it’s been tough being patient, they made the right choice to wait until the season officially ends to announce the move on Autry. Moving in timelines that seem to make sense. Chancellor this week, AD early next week, and then the Head Coach whenever you can announce it in a way that is professional (the head coach old team season finishes). This guy does not seem impressed with how Providence is handling this so far…

I know it seems wild but many high ups in the AD do monitor and watch the board.

Maybe Syracuse is waiting until our quick ACC Tourney run is over so JW can fire Red before they announce the new AD.

Then the new AD won't be the one to fire someone they have never even met and they won't be asked about Red at the introductory press conference.

I believe some of our board ITKs said last week that the AD announcement would be today or tomorrow, hence asking if that has changed?

Doesn't seem to be any chatter for today...

Any chance they are planning an intro press conference with the new coach but forgot about firing Red at all because it's such a foregone conclusion?

I think Red gets let go with a statement from Wildhack, sometime within 24 hours of the loss.

Then sometime in the next 24-48 hours after that is a press conference announcing the next Athletic Director.

Then, the school can either make a statement about the next head coach or they wait until he is eliminated in the NCAAT.

It's all about the dominoes falling in the correct order.

I think 100% of us think that is true, although it definitely could have been more than a week ago. But, for whatever reason, they chose not to announce it to the outside world.

They want Wildhack to be the one to announce it and then that clears the deck for who we hope and assume is Nick to start off with that already done. If they announce it tomorrow, the press conference will be mostly questions about Red, and who will decide his fate etc. we are all impatient but it makes complete sense and I am sure the next AD is already working on Red’s successor along with JW

Remember the last JB presser where he was to announce his retirement that was agreed to but he made a mess of it and the AD issued a press release the next day. So it is possible Red has been notified on his last game presser that he and the university will be "parting ways" and not answer any questions about that because "today is about the game and the players want to focus on that..." and nothing more except a press release later that day or next day confirming Red's stepping down.
