Yes!!!

SU had 2 hits and all they needed was the homerun in the first inning by senior 2b man Stephanie Watts

Jen pitched great, had 5 K's 2 BB & gave up 4 hits.

Next game 9 PM

The winner to the Super Regional next week for the Sweet 16 to face Louisianna-Lafayette

Morgan Nandin had a great game at shortstop. In the top of the 4th inning, with ASU threatening and runners at 1st & 2nd 2 outs the ASU hitter hit a ball up the middle for what looked like a game tying rbi. Nandin backhanded it and flipped backwards to nip the runner going into second for the final out. She had another tough chance to end the game with ASU's speedy lefty leadoff hitter slapping & running.

Yesterday Morgan stole a base hit in the 5-6 hole against ASU and forced a runner going to 2nd for the final out.

Any idea who they play?

Don't think so but since it became an if necessary game you never know

It's so impressive that, in an area where high school baseball/softball isn't really a huge draw, that SU, situated in a place where you can literally only play outside 7-8 months of the year (usually), can make it this far in a national tourney.

The program is gaining respect throughout the country. My fear is that Leigh and any of her two assistants will get picked off by a traditional power, should the need arise. Our first head coach, Mary Jo Firnbach, who got things rolling in the right direction, left to be an assistant at Texas A&M where she is to this day.

That we earned a spot as an at large team only serves to show how much this program is esteemed by the committiee. In 2010 & 2011 we earned our way in by winning the Big East Tournament.

Syracuse plans on having Alabama, who as I have it, has already committed to playing in the Dome for an early season tournament.

This season SU went on the road to play thier first 25 games. They had five game sets in Tempe Az, Palm Springs Fl, Orlando, Clearwater, & finally Boca Raton. By having the Dome become convertable to softball perhaps it will cut down on a lot of the travel and make it a bit easier on the girls as relates to their work in the classroom.

Syracuse already has the #10 pitcher in the coutry out of California in it's class of 2014. Maybe this win gets a few more heads to turn in our direction.

..looks like the BE and ACC shut out except for USF and the 'Cuse if we get to sweet 16. So maybe we should start a new softball conference...pick a diamond to play on and call out all those ass...s from the other conferences that think they are hot s..t.

Louisville?

according to list above for sweet 16 Louisville did not make it...

didn't know they lost today, thought they were still in it.

Michigan, hofstra, a few northern schools still in it

If the girls can play a double elim, you think the boys might be able to play a football single elim. tournament?

SU loses 4-0. Congrats on a great season anyway ladies...

Yep, great effort and great year. Got to give the Arizona State pitcher her due though. She was actually the better pitcher in both games.

Cheers,
Neil
