SU's offense compared to FSU's other 4 p5 opponents

In FSU's other p5 games, they gave up 354 ypg and 4.9 yards per play

SU got 412 yards and 6.1 yards per play. 26% better in yards per play. Better yards per play than NC State.

6.1 yards per play would've been 34th in the country last year.

Florida State is not as good as their record but they're still really good. Not ready to say for sure that Louisville's defense is better. FSU has played Clemson and NC State

And they had some passing TDs to go with the yards. Still not great in the red zone and turnovers hurt but at least the disparity between yards and points wasn't totally unreasonable.

Once this offense figures out how to finish they could be a very nice offensive team. It just drives me nuts that it seems to take this team 4 to 7 games amount of time to figure things out.

I would guess using NC State isn't going to be a productive comparison. NC State was on a bit of a roll. Since that FSU loss, they've had a 154 yard outing at Clemson, and 217 at home against BC. I don't think anyone is going to confuse the BC defense with FSU. So when they travel to Louisville this weekend, I wouldn't expect 300 yards out of them. They have fallen apart.

i just mentioned them because they had a memorable game against FSU. i wasn't clear enough - better yards per play vs FSU than NC St had against FSU.

we can all go back to ignoring them all but 1 saturday per year.
