Syracuse football gets verbal commitment from three-star wide receiver Steve Ishmael

Same phenomena at the LB position in this class. Zaire Franklin, Moskal, AND Jonathan Thomas? Yes, please.

Close with Denzel Ward tomorrow and hang onto Jonathan Thomas tomorrow and we got ourselves our best class in over a decade.

Don't forget Parris Bennett. He is a good looking LB commit too.

No worries, I don't consider anything discussed on the board to be malicious.

Got really nasty pneumonia and my oxygen dropped a ton. I went in to the instacare and they put me on a breathing machine (nebulizer maybe?) to measure my oxygen. The nurse comes in, checks the reading, and runs out of the room. Needless to say, I figured that was bad. They hooked me up to an oxygen machine and got me normalized and sent me to the hospital. The Dr. said that it's hard to tell how long I was at those dangerous levels but it was pretty much a certainty with oxygen that low that brain cells were dying. I did have slight memory issues for a short while after, but despite what my posts suggests, I am a fully functioning and successful professional and adult. :)
Damn, i was expecting something exciting. Can't you make up a better story?

I went through exactly this with my youngest son when he was 2 and then again at 4. Longest nights of my life. Glad you're ok.
Oof, can't even fathom what that would be like to see my son go through.

My wife and I had no idea how bad I was. We thought I just got a crazy flu.

I don't know, Lavar had offers from Miami, Florida, VT and several others. He also committed to Miami before flipping.

USC as well, i believe.

Not what I commented on. But anyways, even tho the comp was different, somehow the southern schools found him where all that great talent resides.
Lobdell benefitted from having Greg Paulus throwing to him. I think Miami was qb U at that time and were watching GP for a couple of years and found Lobdell. Lobdell was also a track star and I seem to remember Miami offering him an opportunity to run on their track team as well.

Read this article and you can get a feel for how big of a recruit Ishmael is. Can you imagine Lobdell at USC or Miami? Good lord, he couldn't do anything at Syracuse during the worst hole in our football history.

Ishmael had offers from Oregon, Nebraska, Miami and Tennessee to name a few. Alabama came calling but he didn't go to their camp so his coach thinks that's why they didn't offer him.

Article makes him sound like a great pickup, on-and-off the field, for our program.

I like the thought of him being a 5-star caliber player--man, what a difference that would be to get someone of that caliber!

that article was definitely supposed to be held until tomorrow when he announced for us. Syracuse.com ran it today for the page views. Disgusting to ruin a kid's big moment.

Newspapers don't hold news. They're not pr departments. There's a simple way for news to not get out, don't talk to reporters or confirm their questions / suspicions.

Blaming the newspaper is misguided.

I competed against Lobdell and knew many who were classmates, talent, was never the issue.

I blame Syracuse.com for everything including tomorrow's snow storm because I'm 36 and we are the worlds crappiest generation

This is great news. With Ishmael and the other WRs coming in the competition will be fierce and that is a good thing. Looking forward to WR being a strength in the future.

The coaching staff we have now is getting better recruits across the board than we have seen for a decade and they are going to get the most out of our recruits. To think what they got out of this team this year after a new QB, injuries and a tough schedule. Future looks bright and Ishmael is gonna be a big part of that!

Lobdell was still a bigger 'recruit' in name. Before that was Rice Moss. This is a great get but he's along way off from seeing the field. As of tomorrow, he is scout team fodder until he proves otherwise.

Rice Miss Was Not The Recruit That Steve Ishmael Is.

Not Even Close.
