I moved to Atlanta in 1998. We have played 3 games since then (2002 bball chik fil a classic, 2013 final 4, Ga Tech football)

we are 0-3... and none of them have been pretty.

Thankfully I've only been here for the GT disaster (was out of town on business during FF) ... resident since May of 09.

Doesn't mean much now, but I thought we had a nicely sized away section at the game. GT is one of those places that based on camera angles and the difference in colors of the two schools, makes it easy to see the visitor's section on TV.

That stadium is not a good one to watch games in though ... didn't like it.

Beautiful campus, beautiful setting for a game. The stadium was very easy to get around and in. However, it did seem smallish from the inside. I loved the fact that the fans stood all game. Well, except for the old lady behind me. Being tall, I had to move or I would have blocked her all game.

Really, why?

I thought it was great, from the upper deck at least.

Didn't feel comfy to me like the Dome ... plus I really am not a big fan of going into that part of town to be honest. My drive there sucks ... I hear people complain about the "traffic" in Syracuse which is hilarious ... try getting down I-85 through Spaghetti junction in the morning.

So do we think we had about 2000 fans there? Probably hard to confirm as we were spread over and some folks were wearing rain gear.

Yeah, I'd say 2000 is probably right. Moontan sold ~500 tickets himself.

on Saturday morning? there wasn't any traffic. i thought the stadium was great. big enough to be formidable but great sightlines. also super easy to park, get around and get out.

I noticed it was a super late arriving crowd. Was security lines long or were the fans just slow to come in from their tailgates?

I'd say 2000 or a little more is probably right. We had at least 3 whole sections in the lower corner plus some more fans scattered throughout the place. Although there was certainly not 2000 there in the second half haha.

I didn't mean that particular time ... in general going down I-85 is awful for me once I get inside the perimeter as it merges into I-75 ... I didn't even mess with it since I drove down to Doraville and took Marta in anyway :)

Only got to see Georgia Tech's stadium from the outside when I was there touring with my little brother, but the campus is really nice. Kinda reminded me of a rich man's UConn in terms of the look of the building and everything, but of course if UConn's location is a 1 or a 2 (Storrs is the worst), Tech's is an 8 or a 9. Atlanta's a great town.

Sorry got to disagree with you, that part of town is not bad at all! PS...the Tech stadium is a decent stadium for viewing, been to several games there while my son attended...having said that, the drive to downtown on weekdays do suck!

I am not a fan because of traffic never said it was a bad part of town ... done my fair share of driving there. I used to drive south to Marietta down I-75 every morning and that sucked .. then moved up the I-85 corridor to the Dacula area ... thankfully I now consult and work from home so I no longer have to drive through that train wreck. Making that morning commute was worse than water boarding.
