Red had all the resources to be a good coach here. Let’s not act like it was just the predicament he was put in that led to his failure. He failed as a coach period.Red was put in the unenviable position of having to follow a legend. Made even harder by the legend not wanting to leave. It was always going to be an uphill climb for him and it's sad it didn't work out.

Agreed. School was assuming continuity was good and it may have been w the right selection. Gerry may have needed seasoning similar to red needing it in hindsightI'm wrong about things all the time, but I can say in good faith that the Autry hire felt awful to me from Day 1. It just felt like the laziest possible move we could have made. "Oh, well he's on campus and already here, let's just give him a chance and see what happens."
