Congrats IthacaMatt! A well played season. That one week you had Palmer captained & he went crazy really pushed you out front… another fun season, looking forward to many more! Hopefully we can add a few new members & see the league grow.

Real talk: I forgot to set my lineup twice this season… today was one of them! Didn’t turn out too poorly, but I did have my Liverpool players benched after I played my Bench Boost last week. Genuinely sad to see Klopp end his run in charge, as a Liverpool supporter I actually watched the Liverpool vs. Wolves game first before going back to watch Arsenal & Man City games to see who won the Title. I’m so fatigued by Man City winning again…

115 pending financial fair play violations, beating Liverpool by 1 when Liverpool amassed 97 points in a season. I’m still struggling to get over Man City being down 2-0 to Aston Villa with Steven Gerrard as Villa’s
Manger in about the 65th minute, needing to win outright to beat Liverpool for the League Title… and scoring 3 goals in about 12 minutes to take it.

Thanks as always to ROCcuse as always for making the Syracusefan FPL league work logistically… also, shout out to the new players on the board that joined this season, appreciate you!

Having saved transfers reset after playing a chip screwed me once or twice last year. And I didn't realize that your saved transfers were capped at two.

I found that last season, if you wanted to upgrade a position and didn't have enough cash in the bank, you transfer two guys, using an overpriced defender, for instance, whose output you can match with a cheaper guy, in order to get an improvement in your attacking positions beyond the value of the player you're looking to move plus any cash on hand.

Being able to bank up to 5 transfers will give you a lot more flexibility in reconstructing your squad after injury or whatever, if you have the patience not to use a transfer every week to replace the poor performer of the week before.

Yeah, I agree. As I shared before the first time I was invited to play FPL (13 years ago?!), the the guy running the league would buy a cheap plastic championship belt (WWE style) & a jersey of the winners choice up to $100 or so. I thought it was the coolest thing. When I won the league I ended up getting a USMNT Nike Centennial Clint Dempsey jersey… it was amazing. Unfortunately I ended up selling it a few years ago (was a little too small). I wish I had held it, the same jersey goes for like $300+ now. Still looking for a replacement!

I’d be in for a $10 buy in for sure! It certainly adds to the fun knowing someone is getting a jersey out of it

The biggest challenge this year to me so far looks to be figuring out if I NEED Haaland at 15 M and fitting a solid roster around that.

If you're a new Fantasy Premier League user, here's a couple of quick helpful gameplay hints on how to approach the season.

Your bench players are numbered 1, 2, 3 when they're not on the field. The number correlates to who's the first to sub if a player is benched or injured in real life. As an example, if you have Haaland as a starter & he doesn't play, if Alexander-Arnold is bench player #1, he'll be subbed in even though he's a defender & Haaland is a forward (This will change your formation). If player #1 doesn't play either, then player #2 would be subbed in, etc.

Your "chips" (added benefits to your gameplay for a week) are limited to one use each for the whole season, so you probably want to hold them for a bit.

It's always beneficial to have players who play consistent, starter minutes. It's a long season, players who play a lot matters. It's also nice to add players who are specialists, i.e. Free kick or penalty takers, defenders who play advanced positions & so on.

In last place with three 0s - no minutes this week. Just the way I planned. Setting up for a massive comeback.

Bounce back for the fantasy team. Not a bounce back for my Wolves. They need a stud pickup after selling their two best players this offseason.

Chelsea has the best midfield in the league but they are going to give up a lot of goals.

Haaland is a true thoroughbred.

I finally figured out how to transfer Admin over to you.
Not sure what that gives you aside from ability to kick people lol

I have a number of problems now - 3 budget defenders that I thought would start, but don't/won't.
And I'm not thrilled with the Forwards/Mids I've picked around the heavy hitters.
Might need to Wildcard early.

Maybe I'm just used to the ESPN one, but I liked that interface better. I don't like having to click through pages of players. I liked being able to sort by team, opponent, etc. all in one list.

And could someone point me to how to change formations from 4-4-2 to anything else? :noidea:

But I'm digging the pricing and other stuff in this game more.

ESPN's game had too few variables that contribute to points. Made the game very predictable, and almost boring over time. I think you'll like the Premier League one much better as you get used to it.

Do players get more expensive the better they do during the season? How about transfer point cost, does that increase as the season goes on?
