Love being in the dome, people who talk about an open air stadium never sat on that cold concrete in November at the old stadium. You could start out sunny, get drizzle, then a hard rain, then snow and back to sun. The wind blew through there, and you would be frozen when you left.I'm a T shirt fan too. The haters and judgers will hate and judge regardless. If you go all in that is awesome. I'll let you in a secret...if not for the non-alumni fans who buy tickets and watch them on TV, Syracuse would be in the Patriot League right now. The alumni that move back to the BOS-WASH in an overwhelmingly large part do not come back to Syracuse for games.
I’m sure this was covered in the 3 page thread, but college sports are sports. Choose your team support them proudly. Anyone who has an issue isn’t a real fan. And frankly are probably simultaneously upset about crowd sizes while discouraging fandom.I really don’t like the term. My question is, how do you all feel about someone like me adopting Syracuse as my team? I’m from upstate NY (near Albany) and went to a community college. I have always liked college football much more than the NFL, and being Sabbatarian, I don’t watch sports on Sundays.
I’ve been following college football for about 20 years but never had a team, which makes it less exciting. I've finally decided to adopt Syracuse as my own due to geographical proximity. Adopt as in go all in, this is my team now for better or worse.
The thing is, I have heard numerous people say (not here) that you shouldn’t wear Syracuse gear if you never went there, shouldn’t say “we” when talking about the team etc. Is this really true, is following college football really that exclusive? I know down south almost everyone follows their team, most of which are people who never attended or work for the college they root for. Is this taboo in the north?
And he picked up Goode's BBQ for 100+ fans he never met before.I didn't graduate from Syracuse. Not only that but never lived in the city, and I've now lived in Texas twice as long as I ever lived in New York. Still rocking my Syracuse gear and showing off all my other SU stuff, including blankets, license plate holder, and copy of Orangeopoly.

That brings back great memories, but wouldn't want to relive them. But at the time I was young and it wasn't so bad.Truer words were never spoken. If it was raining, or...be still my heart...snowing, the cold concrete steps were covered with water.
I recall one game, during the period where Ben picked that moment in time to let the game pass him by. I can't recall who we were playing but it was very cold, the rain was coming down hard, it was 4th and long, and Ben decided to go for it. Ben was from the school of thought that when you threw a pass, three things could happen and two of them were bad. So Ben did what Ben generally did in situations like that; he ran up the middle.
Naturally, the play went for little to no gain. As all of this wonderful gridiron action was going on, water was pouring off of the umbrella of the person in the seat in front of me, onto my lap.
I don't think I have ever been to a football game in the Dome when I didn't look up briefly at the beautiful roof and flash a quick smile.
Yeah. Get the address. We got a guy who takes care of these people.Next time someone gives you crap for wearing Syracuse gear. Get their address.

The powers that be would prefer to keep the identity of the board muscle anonymous. But the person in question is more about breaking thumbs than jokes. Are we talking like JarHeadJim take care of them or like Chip take care of them?
We call him Jarhead among other code words...Yeah. Get the address. We got a guy who takes care of these people.![]()
