Talking crazy

In the grand scheme of things 45k a month is not a lot really for what some of these players are getting.

That’s only 540k.

It’s the other requests that are silly

This.

It's weird watching stuff like this unfold... I believe there will be a tightening up of "primadonna" requests/behavior that teams will say "thanks but no thanks" to, but it's interesting to watch some of these young bozos get the inch and try to take a foot.

It is fascinating to watch a new market develop in real time as the various players all try to determine worth, value, power etc...

Pyburn clearing trying to push the boundary...

He was possibly their best defensive player so interesting to see the value he (although more likely his agent's firm) has ascribed to his role: $540K per year.

Yet another data point in attempting to determine what players are really worth.
Honestly, if coaching wasn't so cutthroat and competitive, and full of people willing to do literally whatever it takes to be successful, that profession in specifically football & men's basketball should collude and basically shut down all of this nonsense.

You want $500K per year? Nah. Sorry. You want a new car and a food truck even though you can't play a lick of defense? Nah, go pro.

This is all getting very ridiculous and I feel like it's only going to get worse.

You would think, but it hasn't stopped anyone yet.

Only 5x what I make, niceeee. Would have been nice to have been born with top 5% athletic genetics!

I did not realize extortion was a major down in Gainesville. Tough to root for a guy like that.

But just think how many sacks he'd have if he had played every third down! At least two or three.
Ohio St spent 20 million and couldn't win the Big 10 championship. In this new world people like Fran will be the kings. The most money won't end up winning. The coaches who can identify talent and ability to create a culture will win championships.
I think we struck a goldmine with Fran and company.

Love this , some unbridled optimism is nice to hear once in awhile, and you might be right .

Good for all these kids. Schools, conferences, tv networks, coaches etc have ALL been getting rich off the backs of these kids. The BYU kid got a reported $7M...good for him too. The faster this turns into a pro league..the better.

The factories still have a big advantage but with the current landscape there's a lot more parity. A 4 or 5 star recruit can go make some money to play and develop at a lower tier school, put their skills on tape, then portal to a factory or the highest bidder. So $20M may buy the best roster but the depth might be lacking and the gap in rosters won't be as significant as it used to be.

Fran's big advantage is building connections by being genuine on the first round, thus being a big player in the portal when guys he already recruited end up unhappy. Being able to scout talent and character is crucial too. Fran's also able to get more money out of the community for NIL, and probably sell kids on why less money now may lead to more money later either in the portal or NFL.

Maybe you can make a few hundred grand more somewhere else right now, but after a year here you're going to develop more with our coaches and position yourself for a future payday.

Makes me just more curious why he wasn’t playing in 3rd downs to make that demand. Did he stink in 3rd down situations? Maybe passing situations? Is he telling on himself?

As a 38 year, very valuable, season ticket holder, I am demanding
My seat be widened by 6 inches

Food catering service with food from the Dinosaur and Apizza brought directly to seat

Limo services ce back and fourth to each game

Free Alcoholic beverage of choice throughout game .

If I don’t get it I’m getting Syr Mets seasons
I'll settle for arseholes not abusing seats I paid for just because noone is sitting in them with there arse, anothers, their coats, their food, and their trash. I've been a nice guy for a while, but I'm going to have to police seats is ridiculous.. I mean there paid for already and attendance.. it's the other people that tick me off.
