We have been willing to pay in the past. We offered two head coaches $2m per year but they chose not to take it. If either had, and were still here, they'd be about 4-5 in the ACC. Marrone didn't get that money nor did Shafer based on experience, not based on not wanting to pay. When Marrone came here, there was a significant bump in budget available for assistants. Are we big spenders? Nope. But it's not as bad as it seems. We just need to start hiring guys with more experience.
