Just my opinion, but I think this team, with all the younger players, have a different mind set. Play after play, they expect big things to happen and work hard to make them happen. Then, they do not rest on their laurels, they repeat the effort.

I am not slamming the older players and those that have graduated, just saying that these kids wearing Orange today want and expect to win. Brisley is always looking for the end zone. Ish beats down DBs so another player can get a few more yards, then runs his routes and is looking for the house. Each running back looks like he is on the verge of breaking free and going the distance. Dungey has a cool head. O Linemen are disciplined. DBs are trying to rack up more yards than the receivers. D Linemen are feasting on raw QB flesh. The linebackers are stopping the run game cold. The special teams are special again. Coaches are making changes at the half (they could make them sooner for my heart's sake but this is an improvement). I hope I haven't missed anyone, if so, chime in.

Please don't take this as I believe they will win the NC this year, but the Orange are fun to watch again.

I am excited about our Orange. They may not be ready to take over the CFB world, but I am on this badwagon! (I was already on, but this ride should be fun!)

This board is manic. After 2.5 qtrs we were winning two games this year.
Many of us have been confident of a bowl game, I am one of them. I hope you are not painting with too broad of a brush.

One thing I felt the teams have always had since DM's first year was a team mindset. The biggest issue has always been poor coaching, decisions, and/or game planning. But IMO, the players have played with passion and a togetherness for quite a few years. The year of Doug Hogue at LB is a great example, those guys were animals and exciting to watch as a team.

Oh, I admit, I was manic. I was thinking 1-11 midway through the 3rd - when we had 102 total yards of offense and Wake had 375. Very happy I was wrong. Great and surprising end to the game.
Thanks for your honesty. For myself, I believe Shafer and crew and now Dungey possess a quiet confidence. They know they have a good thing coming together.

I wouldn't say Shafer has quiet confidence - he's a very rah rah guy. But I get what you are saying. Dungey for one is very cool out there - behind the back to the ref., etc.

It's hard not to be negative after what we've had to look at for the better part of 2 decades. I was tossing a couple of zingers early in the game (in the chatroom).

These guys have some potential. Great 2nd half.

Love the behind the back pass! I laughed and thought "cool cucumber" (and obvious frmr hoop player). Luv it!
