we know we didnt learn much from RI or what Wake did.

but BC was in a 10-3 vs maine in the 4th.

FSU outside of the RB is in a struggle vs Tx ST.

Pitt was in a dogfight. good they scored a ton bad they gave up a ton. anyone know why the backup QB played so much and how bad Connor was hurt?

Louisville played better as the game went on

the rest played solid games i thought,

so many top teams did not look good at all this week.

UVA's score looks bad, but they have talent, will be tough to beat them in Charlottesville. UCLA true freshman qb Rosen looked unbelievably impressive, may be top qb in the nation. Was "shooting laser beams" onto his wrs hands...

UVA on the road is going to be tough. Pitt at home may be a more realistic chance of a win. Not impossible with UVA by any means but harder than some may think.

Lville really impressed me yesterday, if not for some really dumb mistakes, they had a legit chance to win that game. That qb is the real deal.

I didnt think UVA looked very good at all to be honest. Definitely didn't see anything out of them that makes me change my opinion that we beat them. The whole team looked pretty average all around. They didn't have one player that stood out to me besides Smoke Mizzel. But even he seems to be overrated for a guy that was a five star out of highschool. He's their best reciever (was last year too) as the starting running back. Thats not a good sign for their offense.

Have to disagree... I was at the Rose Bowl, their O Linemen looked physically impressive, Dline has a nasty streak, and qb is a definite dual threat. Playing against a possible playoff team might have something to do with not looking impressive...
Edit: Maybe not dual threat, but I thought Johns could scramble out of trouble...

UCLA has an undersized dline, and an average oline. I watched the entire game on my big HDTV. I got to see every play a lot better than you did in the stands.

BC struggled. Looks like their OL had problems (I had Hillman on my Draftkings team and was very disappointed with his production, or lackthereof) freeing up Hillman.

Pitt was in a shootout with Youngstown, BUT potential All-American Tyler Boyd did not play.

Clemson coasted. Watson had a baseball hat on by the 3rd qtr.

FSU struggled, but we aren't winning in Tallahassee, so irrelevant.

I thought Louisville looked every bit as good as Auburn. Pretty impressed despite some sloppy play.

Didn't get to see much of NCST, and UVA except for bits and pieces. If we can split there we will be in good shape.

USF is a team i'm going to watch. Quinton Flowers looked like he is the answer. (At least from the statline since I played him at QB on Draftkings).

If BC and Pitt can have down years it will be huge. It looks like Addazzio has a lot of work to do with BC's OL. Will be interesting to see how it molds into shape throughout the season.

I would not be surprised if BC had a season similar to the one we had last year. I think they're going to struggle to get to 6 wins if they're lucky.

I hate playing BC at the end of the season. 12th game for a thin team vs. a power running team. I'm sure they'll get their problems worked out by then.

Anyone else kind of worried about usf? That kid Flowers has talent and is the kind of qb that usually kills us.

I've always thought that was a tough game. Depending on what transpires between now and then, I still think USF could be favored. Many people on here are taking them far too lightly.

South Florida has a lot of talent. I'd be pleasantly shocked if we went down there and won.

Taggart year 3.

Taking them lightly and then being favored are two very different things. They will lose at least two, probably 3 by the time they play us. I still think we'll be a 1 loss team for that game despite losing Hunt.

I know they have talent, but I'm not sure they've put it all together yet.

People who wager enough money to influence betting lines are smart enough to look at whom teams have played.

You and I have talked about this ad infinitum. I think if the game is played this week, USF is favored by 1 or 2 because of home field. I don't think that's a controversial opinion.

You and I disagree about the fundamentals of this game. I think not only will they be coming off of 3 losses, but that we'll be considered the better team despite our respective records.

I think you think of them as the same team from the BE. They have been much worse than us the last two years (that should tell you everything you need to know).

I don't think South Florida is the same team they were in the Big East. They have been bad for two years in a row. Syracuse was only bad for one year, so I guess advantage Syracuse. Recruiting services suggest these teams recruit at the same level. I don't think it is unreasonable to be an underdog on the road against a team with similar talent. To be clear: I am not saying that South Florida is a better team.

Right. That's my point. I don't think Vegas will view it that way either. They will see us as the better team. Better coached with a strong D. W-L will play a role too.

Right, but the game is at South Florida; you don't believe home field means anything?

Don't forget that many people have picked UCLA to win the PAC 12.

On the other hand, they have to play us after our most talented* quarterback has an entire year of experience.

I think if Dungy progresses at a conservative pace, those two variables result in a net win for us. But what do I know :noidea:

*Based on some peoples preliminary opinions, possibly including some of the staff

Sure. But I think we are that much better than them.
