...there is a lot here...and some is reading between the lines. After all, Swofford is the STEALTH NINJA! So I am going to provide a few hints for your reading:

1. It will not take 3 years for the ACC Network to be up and running--much less in fact
2. Divisions are not going to be the same in football as they are today--there are changes that are being discussed much more substantially than alluded to in interview--will take a while longer to get done
3. Bowls are eager to sign up the ACC...and in fact, look for the ACC to have minimally nine-10 bowls that ACC teams could get to with qualifying record beginning '14-'15. Note that discussions concerning the Big 5 rotating teams into different bowls is moving forward... albeit not as quickly as expected
4. International games are really being discussed...bball may happen quicker. Expect ACC bball and football in Europe and possibly China (bball) within next three years
5. What was not discussed in interview was ACC conference scheduling with another conference--more on this coming soon.

So far it appears to be going as our board has discussed...this board certainly has discussed most of these ramifications well...and as always, IT IS GOOD TO BE 'CUSE!!!!!

By international games, what do we mean? Exhibitions? Non-conference games? Or actual legit conference games? I'm in favor of "forward looking" stuff, but good gravy that would be tough to get on board with. Can you imagine this? Conference games in CHINA?? You know it would have to be the marquee games in order to have any hope of drawing any interest. Plus the travel?? Coaches don't like the Saturday/Monday swings. Imagine a Sunday game in Syracuse followed by a Wednesday night game in Beijing followed by a Big Monday game in Atlanta.

Now for a pre-season exhibition game associated with some other conferences, possibly but yikes. For this, imagine you have a November event where you have a Duke-UNC exhibition game in say London followed the next day by games-for-the-record Duke-MSU, UNC-Kentucky or something. I'm not sure how esle you make this an ACC thing if you don't play two ACC teams against each other.

All the above said - I do think it would be a positive strategic move for Syracuse to play a game in Toronto every other year. A marquee non-conference game. Of course, we are getting spread pretty thin now with wanting to play in NYC, Philly, DMV, etc but Canada continues to produce quality players and the opportunity is there for the taking to become Canada's College Team.
